1. For one whose sorrows have intensified,
Whose tears of passion have cascaded,

2. For one whose glances at a beloved
Revive him when estranged and neglected,

3. For one made giddy when his graceful doe
Simply stirs, stirred by his tread,

4. When those tender lips softly utter
Our bodies tremble at what is said,

5. Slain am I by yearning and rapture for him
Brothers of yearning have no life ahead,

6. Wondrous that he denies killing me
When his glances witness against him instead,

7. Intoxicated by love I am like him
Though not harmed by intoxication,

8. Delighted by him, though he has slyly
Charmed me with smiles in elation,

9. With glances’ swords he slays lovers
Should he unsheathe them without hesitation

10. A lover who estranges after intimacy
His aloofness augments tribulation,

11. To be bereft of him is death to me
Yet life is in hopes of his inclination,

12. How sweet to reunite after absence
If not for jealous souls' machinations,

13. My heart is squeezed of delight without his love
Else his passion’s wine I’d not have sipped

14. Perhaps one day his company I’ll merit
His melodies will resurrect my spirit,

15. To him, who’s miserly with union, I sent tears
That moistened his valley, their flow transmitted

16. As if the Imam, Sultan of munificence
Generously irrigated, for his nature emitted

17. Serenity, condensation, favor, and benevolence
Glory, sublimity, these are his trademark and credit.

18. Heart's tranquility with him, though no riches avail
Nor sheltering pastures where tents are pitched.

19. He's lord of dew, lord of hands that valiantly
Spook the antelope, so raids are prohibited,

20. An imam of justice who wrongs wealth to bestow
As if it were his disobedience emitted,

21. A patron excellent, magnanimous when obeyed
For obedience to God is what's permitted,

22. Content, pleasing God, his actions
Are desired, his qualities transmitted

23. A king whom monarchs serve, so generous
The horizons are clad by what he knitted,

24. A warrior who plunges in death's sea
Its plunging waves have never depleted

25. His courage, ferociously battling evil's tide
Immune in tumult when swords collided

26. Stalwart, peerless, famed for his collisions
Subduing nomads, gifts solicited

27. His concern: managing kingdoms, for the imam
His diligence, prayers, never omitted.

28. In ease or affliction, his state is equal
In both settings his demeanor fitted,

29. So worldly glory accrues to him
Far-reaching goals cannot be limited,

30. To him belong supremacy, kingdom, and praise
Exalted banners as summit permitted,

31. describers are feeble describing his traits
Beside his qualities, theirs omitted,

32. Through him our age was adorned, and by his
Guidance made plain what was once prohibited,

33. The era grew straight after crookedness
His justice illuminating what was dimly lit,

34. With him the edifice of deceit collapsed,
Its arena deserted, people no longer committed,

35. Justice prevailed, appointed by his decrees,
His viceroys governing what was permitted,

36. Caprice withered; its people, injustice and ignorance, expired,
The end of its term no more emitted,

37. Whoever allies with him, his virtues
On judgment day heavily transmitted,

38. Whoever disobeys the Hanafi imams
Great will be his misstep committed,

39. Whoever withdraws from them, lost and void
Whether his life or death, omitted,

40. Proximity endeared me, enriching me
With his munificence, nearness permitted,

41. Doubts within my heart receded, else not
By his justice would they be remitted,

42. My heart desires naught but praising him
For praising him is its ultimate mission permitted,

43. O Imam of mankind, Sultan of the sword
By you our age is graced, its times transmitted

44. You are the excellent Imam for us
As the age's toxins are inhibited by your spirit emitted

45. Ordain what you will, for the age is a slave
Whose steps are controlled and limited when you've committed

46. O best of nobles, blessed is the age
For you are now the lords within it seated

47. You, imams of justice in religion, are its arm and shield,
Its backbone and pillars on which rely its principles transmitted

48. Its defenders, its patrons you are indeed,
Its brave lions, by whom life's essence is emitted,

49. O age's horsemen, an era you've empowered
For you are its horsemen when polished swords are unsheathed and permitted

50. O suns of the era, without you
It would expose and darken its pleasures inhibited

51. Our straight religion flourishes, its fruits ripened
For this may God perpetuate your days as permitted,

52. The age reveres you, if you but frown at it,
Its hours against us it would prohibit transmitted,

53. How can it defy you, when you are its party, its lions and pillars?
Command it! It obeys you in all affairs committed and permitted,

54. Shall I blame the age when justice amongst us prevails,
And you are its confidants, trustworthy and permitted?

55. In your hands is the age and its people's lives and deaths
From you its living and dying transmitted,

56. So calmly ascend to glory’s zenith
For the zenith belongs to you, its steps permitted,

57. The earth and age are adorned by you, and knowledge
Has been compiled, its fragments united and transmitted,

58. Accept this eulogy, O son of nobles
As if musk's scent from it has emitted,

59. In phrases like concealed pearls
Versified by counselors who inherited and transmitted,

60. With folds telling of a beloved's folds
No, telling of lips from which it flitted,

61. Sweeter than wishes granted for a loyalist,
To enemies, your fervor sufficiently heated and permitted,

62. It surpasses all poetry, so people busy themselves
With interpreting it, confounded when transmitted,

63. For composing poetry, little suffices,
Numerous are those transmitting and studying what committed!
