1. We celebrate the holidays for you are their feast
And the initiator of the peaks of glory and its restorer

2. You are an ocean of generosity and a spring
Of bitter waters but for the rebels it's punishment

3. You have reformed a protected nation
So it lives in prosperity and its poem recited

4. None has turned away from your mirror except the wretched
And none has entered your sublime abode except the fortunate

5. If you were not the revered ruler
The arrogance of kings would not have bowed down nor been hunted

6. The masses have found in you kindness
For with benevolence you hunt them

7. You have upheld God's religion until
Peace and war have acquiesced to your justice

8. Say to one who aspires glory taking the lead
It is wisdom that seeks and rules over it

9. You are from a noble Arab stock
Yemeni no doubt, you are its pillar

10. Though this is the best of nations
As son of early Muslims, you are its praise

11. If the envious deny some of my words
The dark and white nights testify for me

12. O you for whom angels humbly bow
And all free and slaves submit to you

13. Who aided the upright faith with his sword
With it the world flourished and its timber sprouted

14. Whose wealth remains generous
Annihilating enemies with piercing blades

15. O son of Sultan bin Saif bin Malik
You are brother of the lofty and high ascent

16. Came to you with the first of meanings an advisor
Whose poetry surpasses that of the shining stars

17. I composed it into metres from my afflicted condition
While you are its magnificent arranger

18. For you I have many brilliant jewels
That I fashion into verse and you make it sublime

19. And for you I have ample and lengthy support
Far-reaching like my hopes, expansive and extending

20. Whenever I desire praise of you, my fervor overflows
Like an irritating sea, countless its measure
