1. A greeting like the breeze of musk, nay it is sweeter,
And more delicious than cool clear water, more wholesome,

2. And sweeter than honey mixed with chains of pearls,
And more delicious than the saliva of the beloved, and sweeter,

3. It surpasses the diffusion of fragrances, its breath,
And it competes with the scent of aloes wood when it turns,

4. It consoles the hearts of the enamored with sweetness,
And takes away sorrows whenever it passes,

5. And if its words are recited in gatherings,
A child, an old man, and a gray-haired would approve,

6. It contains words that mean as if they were
A pendant of ruby, nay they are more amazing,

7. And praise, however much the composer exaggerated vainly,
And yearned for the valley of ‘Aqeeq being tortured,

8. And mentioning greetings that renew what is past
Of affection and compassion that does not disappear,

9. I confer it especially on the generous, noble Muhammed,
An honored, praised, courageous, experienced youth,

10. The brother of merit, kindness, good tidings and pleasure,
He is the beloved in every heart that loves,

11. And it would have been best if we visited your abode
Heading quickly, not riding on camels,

12. And you wish that we walk barefoot to visit you
But deserts are between that and us and thorns,

13. So neither did fates decree anything for you nor
Did we mention you except with refined goodness,
