1. Greetings of peace, salutations and friendship abound,
Affection and goodwill that time cannot confound,

2. Memories of kindness and virtues in measure unbound,
Doing good deeds again and again as poets expound,

3. Copious praise whose meanings are like necklaces crowned
With pure pearls and precious gems that surround,

4. For a maiden of fourteen, with fingers fair and round,
Whose bracelets on slender wrists make a delightful sound.

5. My choicest regards to the prosperous man of good birth,
Muhammad the guardian, the valiant of great worth,

6. May you find his company pleasant, his counsel of worth,
Consoling you kindly when sorrow holds you in dearth.

7. If you doubt what I say of his merit on earth,
Inquire of his neighbors and travelers toward his hearth.

8. I will praise him as long as I draw in life's breath,
And if death takes me to him, blame me not in death!

9. I have no riches to give him, no wealth or bequest,
But sincerely I'll pray his life may be blessed.

10. Bless also the best of mankind, Ahmad the greatest,
Intercessor of sinners, whom angels attest!

11. Bless him with praises no words can arrest,
That no poetry contains, nor can prose manifest.
