1. They said you go too far in your praise
I said no, praise rises for the virtuous

2. They washed me with praise for the Sublime One
Whose worth transcends what I say and excels

3. He is a bounty, we thank Him as
Does a garden that flowers do not rise

4. You have not ceased to be in the shade of an excellent
Protector, at the peak of lofty glory

5. My poetry adorned with praising Ibn Sultān
As the sword adorns the polished blade

6. And it is absurd for any creation to aspire to his level
My poetry is but shoes upon his feet

7. Say to one who wished to match his manners
Does one race horses against mules?

8. Or can common iron equal the fine?
None can match his right hand’s slash

9. He is truly king in truth
Others are but shadows of creation

10. O Imam of guidance, scion of pleased Sultāns
You are for all creation a husband

11. By He who created the ring of righteousness
None compares to you, you are unmatched

12. She has no match but you
No mouth has comprehended one like her

13. Adorned by your words and deeds
Do not worry about those who crawl on earth

14. You deserve glory, so act!
