1. O lips moist with spittle, delicate, tender maiden
Gentle, soft, supple, fair virgin

2. Languorous, delicate, trembling, fluttering
Amorous, restless, simple, artless damsel

3. Alluring, tender-necked, plump, slender
Wanton, soft, graceful, pretty fawn

4. Coy, fair child, fragrant,
Radiant, sweetly-scented, beautiful, lovely

5. Coy, sleepy, pretty, smiling one
Lovely, witty, playful, smooth maid

6. Bewitching, will-less, mumbling, murmuring
Enchanted, pure in nature, radiant

7. Alluring, with smiling lips cherry-red
Beloved, with straight slender nose

8. Chaste, free of blemish or any vileness
Agile, soft, kissing, rosy, fair-like-houri

9. Twitching, with smooth limbs, slender
Adorned, her branches virgin, simple

10. Shy, gentle, undefiled by any
Blame, like candles in beauty, with skin rosy red

11. Modest, guide, child who seduced my mind
So I found no life or water as cure

12. Intoxicated, luminous, hard to attain her quest
Stingy, dazzling, her beauty to the unlucky

13. Chaste wept over her abandonment a year
She's the cure but to shun her is the bane

14. No wonder that since seeing her
My heart has no aim, no "baa", no "raa"

15. If her plaits were unleashed from her body
They would light up the darkness of night

16. Honey-lipped, polished her features
As if her spittle were honey and pure white

17. She sways confused like a delicate bough
Seductive of glance, intoxicated of look, smooth

18. My misery is that she abandoned my body
And to shun her is no solace in this life

19. Capricious, no pact with her holds
A day, she has no fidelity or keeping troth

20. So tender she could almost flow if seated
As if her body were of limpid water

21. Dazzling white, lovely of form after her
My heart is clad in black and bleak

22. Beauty in all her features is perfect
She blossoms like a meadow of song

23. Her teeth are pearls and diamonds her words
Her face a moon and her plaits jet black

24. She wandered confused in the maze of a beauty
That evokes no praise but lavish eulogy

25. She turned away and seared my liver inflamed
And a tear flows like the drizzle of rain ruddy

26. May the protector of the dejected aid me
When adversity befalls me time and again

27. I know the son of the Sultan, the Imam, is for us
A sea of bounty, and for all people, springs

28. O you when the two armies meet, a valiant lion
And you exemplify whatever morals they desire

29. You who gladdens those who visit your court
As defender, while hands shed blood

30. And you who is most generous with wealth and brother
To the noble, as if wealth itself were your foes

31. And you when views conflict, you reconcile them
With wisdom like Indian swords made sharp

32. And you when hands of time oppress us wrongfully
Yours are bounty and open-handedness

33. And you when battles rage and swords clash
You plunge into seas of death undaunted

34. A death that makes even death cower in dread
A king of mighty ambition for kingship

35. You seem amidst the valiant a fierce lion
Your face aflame with brilliance and lights

36. You dispose affairs however you desire
While fate toward my state is blind

37. Valiant, fearless, unchanged is your mien
In times of ease or unease the same

38. A lineage nurtured from roots so grand
Proudly looming over summit of glorious fame

39. O you named like your name, all people verily
Without contention, are to you as sons
