1. He whose tears over his beloved are not extravagance
If he overlooks us while in Damascus, it’s just a flash of lightning

2. And the gloomy one whenever he remembers his loved ones
Is enamored with Sanaa, longing, and passion

3. And when lightning flashes towards Yibreen
He yearns, loves, and burns with passion

4. My neighbor who suffered because of their love
Without their love I wouldn't have suffered from love

5. Whoever once felt the agony and torment of love
And his loved ones abandoned him, he surely suffers more

6. And if after being so close they replace it with distance
After missing them, he won’t suffer anymore

7. I spent nights shedding tears
And shrouds that tears didn't soak

8. So have mercy on the one afflicted by love for you, for he adores
You, and be kind to the one who because of you became an invalid

9. Empathize with the lover's vigil, for vig-
ilance remains for those accustomed to gloom

10. Don't prolong the separation, for after
Your companionship and your estrangement, I won't remain

11. Refuse the estrangement and distance, for I
Can’t endure the firm bond of love being severed

12. I’d be content if it pleases you
That I was killed and whatever I experienced because of you

13. The love I have for you is enough, don't increase
My misery, for I have become completely rejected

14. I delight from the wine of your love
I have long quenched my thirst and been quenched

15. Whenever I say I have fallen from the agony of love for you
Your friendship shows me the way out

16. Whenever I say I have woken from love
Your companionship gives me a cup of clarity

17. And my praise for you, son of the sultan Sayf
Has traveled east and west

18. He is the lord of dew, the most generous of Arabs
He surpassed people in character and manners

19. He excelled people of the time in origin and glory
Just as he surpassed them in character and manners

20. He is the most generous, his hand outpours bounty
And he is the most refined, his branches and roots are immaculate

21. He preceded the frontrunners in glory and generosity
And in giving from the adornments of the king, he took the lead

22. Rise, O son of the most noble
You still ascend the highest rank

23. Don’t care, for the command, prohibition, and religion are for you
So obliterate the adversaries entirely

24. And leave the opponent, he won’t approve or obey
Or change course or speak against

25. And pelt those who opposed and differed from us
In our command with arrows, and whoever deviated, cleave in two

26. Give advice and hope for God and speak out and forgive
And fast and conceal and visit and protect and endure

27. Give advice and conceal and seek benefit and patched garments
Guide and have mercy and struggle and increase and honor and be tender

28. Pardon and forgive and speak and block and overlook
And build for me the towering heights of glory that I may ascend

29. I have spent my life praising you
And your sublime traits make me the tallest of people

30. My poetry was adorned by you and wandered
The meadows of poetry aimlessly because it became sincere

31. Any praise of others is nonsense
And nonsense leads to pitiful ignorance

32. Praising the just imams was an obligation
While praising misguidance was injustice and sin

33. O descendant of the Imam Sultan Sayf
You are the most rightly guided of all people and the most refined and devout

34. O young man of the most generous, praise and thanks
This is the ladder to ascend

35. And avoid your enemies’ plots, and forbear
Patience is its brother, and its age endures with care

36. People depend on you, so how can
You leave them to drown in your generosity’s oceans

37. The kings of the world are your slaves
And followers unable to free themselves

38. Nay, it is more lasting
With eloquence beyond any flaw it encounters

39. Except that it pierces enemies like an arrow
With it faces whiten and darken

40. And enemies’ faces blacken with rage and misery
It surpassed any meaning, softness, and expression

41. And the stringing grew long, intricately crafted
