1. We built on the land of God for God a mosque
Through which we hope for forgiveness and triumph tomorrow

2. We built it with righteousness, not for fame
For the sake of God Most High, matchless

3. May God reward us through it with the best abode
And the best place in eternal bliss

4. O a mosque in an exalted place
You have excelled in design over every mosque

5. So remain frequented and remain inhabited
Blessed refuge for every guide and guided

6. God the Merciful chose you with distinction in a
Blessed spot made sacred from every atheist

7. Truly, if I gave you your full due
You would match musk, you would not match ochre

8. The ground is paved with moist pearls
And your walls built with ruby and carnelian

9. And the Book of God is recited in you freely
And good deeds remembered at every place of worship

10. For whoever prays in you, a thousand greetings
And a thousand peace with tranquility donned

11. And some like suns shining
Their clothes of silk brocade and emerald

12. And others like gems sparkling
Soft figures, chaste, flattened breasts

13. Necklaces around their necks and throats
Strung with pearls and emerald

14. They have faces like full moons complete
Shining in a dark night glow

15. Maidens of bounty, beautiful brides
Prepared as reward for the obedient monotheist

16. Take your share of them and pray your prayers
And pay the alms of God, obey my master

17. O people who established the mosque of their Lord
If He wills, He will give them two shares tomorrow

18. So a people after us will know that His
Wealth of palms, trees, and land guided

19. And O you who hear my words, ask God for mercy
And forgiveness, I call on you if you will make me happy

20. And its date we made it a mosque
In the month of Rabi in the extended count

21. And a thousand gone after it, a hundred more
Thirteen in the restricted count

22. In the state of the sword, the exalted Imam
The lineage of Sultan bin Saif Al Mu'ayyad

23. And its just governor, our beloved
Through whom it prospers, I mean the descendant of Muhammad

24. And may God bless whenever a lightning bolt flashes
