١. لا شُغْلَ لي في أولٍ أو حاضرِ
لكنْ فؤادِي في هوَى المستقبلِ
2. For the soul ardently desires what it hopes for,
And has turned away from a present like the past.
٢. فالنفسُ مولَعة بما قَدْ تَرتجِى
وقد انفتحتْ عَن حاضرٍ كالأولِ
