1. Some people's lands light up, while their women are in despair.
The rough and easy paths become too narrow for them.

2. Little construction, farming or planting for people remains.
The high and low lands become too narrow for their people.

3. The wells have dried up, except for a few.
All people are suffering and families are divided.

4. Some head west seeking their livelihood.
Others go east and the groups are confused.

5. You see people drunk, humbly submitting,
So little that not even a child cries out for them.

6. I knew some who would pick date palms for their pits,
And drink undrinkable and tasteless water.

7. Some took to asking people for scraps,
So begging brought them disgrace and humiliation.

8. Some eat little and are not wasteful,
While others beg though they have plenty.

9. Some neither cry nor laugh,
Enduring worries and grief without respite.

10. Some wish for pigeons due to their poverty,
And the evils they saw and troubles that befell them.

11. This was in the year eighty pilgrimage,
And a thousand plus eight and they did not get relief.

12. Were it not for you Sultan bin Saif bin Salik,
We would have suffered for what afflicted us.

13. You rained on us from your generous palms, a downpour
That took the place of what cannot be upheld.

14. I congratulate you for reviving God’s land with justice and dew,
Until ignorance passes and justice spreads.

15. This is old from you, not new,
So were your noble ancestors before you.

16. They are a people whose seekers never despair of attaining their generosity,
For them is an ocean of generosity that no adversity makes bitter.

17. He whose ancestors were generous and noble lions,
Thus is the cub.

18. So live! For my praise of you is true and effective,
While praising others than you is ignorance.

19. I prayed to my God to make your rule eternal,
And quench us with rain that unites our nation.

20. So oh my Lord and Master, we call upon you, quench our thirst
With a living rain that kills drought.

21. O best of those called upon, we call you so answer,
And most generous of hopes, in you the all trust.

22. Your servants, oh Lord of servants, asking for relief
By your grace, O He from whom we have received abundant grace.

23. We called you, O Merciful, with the call of one certain
Of your generosity, O You whose word is truth and justice.

24. O You who are the Almighty Lord, majestic His glory,
In whose hands are creation, command and action.

25. You are the Wise, Creator, Sustainer of mankind,
Relieve us, for from You comes generosity, O Lord, and grace.

26. You are the Knowing, Able, Giver, who
Is glorified by whales in the sea and ants.

27. You are the Giving, the Master, the Eternal, who
Uniquely was honored to have no equal.

28. Exalted is the God of creation, above all describers,
Of His power, or for any mind to encompass Him.

29. And send blessings upon God's creation, great is His praise,
Upon Ahmed the Chosen, by whom the camels march.

30. Blessings uncountable in number,
As drops of rain, leaves and sand cannot be counted.
