2. If I denounce one and find fault in him
I am not without vice and imperfection

3. Let the one I hate and the one I love
Enter into my denunciation and affection

4. Why then do I recount the faults of others
While indulged in talking of them, though fully aware of my own state

5. If the critic is himself imperfect
Shall I denounce others while specks impair my own vision

6. If the sick man looked to his own maladies
He would not find faults in anyone in this world

7. If you claim they talked of you or feared you
Then you are the guilty one

8. If you want to be praised in your time
Then do not neglect any vice that plagues mankind

9. Remember your own faults before othersโ€™
If you are religious and faithful

ูฉ. ูˆุงุฐูƒุฑ ุนูŠูˆุจูŽูƒ ู‚ุจู„ ุนูŠุจ ุณูˆุงูƒ ุฅู…ู‘ูŽุง
ุฅู† ูƒู†ุชูŽ ุฐูŽุง ุฏููŠู†ู ูˆุฐูŽุง ุฅูŠู…ุงู†ู

10. Spare all people and do not denounce their morals
And abstain from blaming them to the Merciful

11. Do you think you are immune that you denounce their nature
With what your tongueโ€™s blade injures them

ูกูก. ุฃูุฃู†ุช ู†ุงุฌ ุฃู† ุชุนูŠุจูŽ ุทุจุงุนู‡ู…
ู…ู…ุง ุชุฌุฑุญู‡ู… ุจุญุฏู‘ู ู„ุณุงู†ู

12. If you denounce them, your own faults amongst them multiply
And they will hate you with enmity and loathing

ูˆุฑู…ูˆูƒ ุจุงู„ุจุบุถุงุฆ ูˆุงู„ุดู†ุขู†ู

13. Live in peace without mentioning them or their faults
And you will be safe from rebuke and abandonment

14. Thank those who were generous with you
For gratitude is a ladder to benevolence

ูุงู„ุดูƒุฑู ู…ุฑู‚ุงุฉูŒ ุฅู„ู‰ ุงู„ุฅุญุณุงู†ู

15. Know for certain that showing ingratitude
To the virtuous leads to loss

ูกูฅ. ูˆุงุนู„ู…ู’ ูŠู‚ูŠู†ุงู‹ ุฃู† ุชุฑูƒูŽ ุงู„ุดูƒุฑ ุนู†ุฏ
ุฃูˆู„ู‰ ุงู„ู†ู‡ู‰ ูŠูุถู‰ ุฅู„ู‰ ุงู„ุฎูุณู’ุฑุงู†ู

16. Do not deny blessings from people of integrity
Indeed, denial is the epitome of deprivation

ูกูฆ. ู„ุง ุชุฌุญุฏ ุงู„ู†ุนู…ุงุกูŽ ู…ูู†ู’ ุฃู‡ู„ ุงู„ู†ุฏู‰
ุฅู† ุงู„ุฌุญูˆุฏูŽ ู„ุบุงูŠุฉู ุงู„ุญุฑู…ุงู†ู

17. Praise those who favored you with sincere affection
For loving the brethren is an obligation upon you

ูกูง. ูˆุงุญู…ุฏ ู…ู† ุงุณุชุฑุนุงูƒูŽ ุญู‚ู‘ูŽ ูˆุฏุงุฏูู‡
ูุฑุถูŒ ุนู„ูŠูƒ ู…ุญุจุฉู ุงู„ุฅุฎูˆุงู†ู

18. If you wish not to be backbitten
Then mention their good traits wherever you may be

ูกูจ. ุฅู† ุดุฆุชูŽ ุฃู„ุง ูŠุฐูƒุฑููˆูƒ ุจุบูŠุจุฉ
ูุงุฐูƒุฑู’ ู…ุญุงุณู†ู‡ู… ุจูƒู„ู‘ู ู…ูƒุงู†ู

19. Restrain your tongue, do not denounce their morals
For the freeman safeguards the privacy of his neighbors

20. Take what is apparent from people of your time
And abstain from revealing hidden secrets

ูขู . ุฎุฐู’ ู…ุง ุจุฏูŽุง ู…ู† ุฃู‡ู„ู ุฏู‡ุฑูƒ ูˆุงู‚ุชุตุฑู’
ุนูŽู†ู’ ุจุงุทู†ู ุงู„ุฃุณุฑุงุฑู ุจุงู„ุฅุนู„ุงู†ู

21. If you probe into peopleโ€™s secrets
You will live with the disgrace of the one finding faults

22. So take the path of the righteous
For through piety, your Lord will save you from passion and disgrace

ูŠู†ุฌูŠูƒูŽ ุฑุจูƒูŽ ู…ู† ู‡ูˆู‰ู‹ ูˆู‡ูˆุงู†

23. I feel ashamed before the Merciful
If I reveal flaws while He sees my own

ูขูฃ. ุฅู†ูŠ ู„ุฃุณุชุญูŠ ู…ู† ุงู„ุฑุญู…ู†ู ุฃู†ู’
ุฃุจุฏู’ู‰ ุงู„ู…ุซุงู„ุจูŽ ูˆุงู„ุนูŠูˆุจู ุชุฑุงู†ูŠ

24. And if I intend to blame people of my time
I reflect upon my own vice and imperfection

ููƒุฑุชู ููŠ ุนูŠุจูŠ ูˆููŠ ู†ู‚ุตุงู†ู

25. For when I denounce them, I become their partner
Since we are all equal in this regard

26. All people, so how can I blame them
While He cares for and protects them all as brethren

ูŠุญู†ููˆ ุนู„ู‰ ูˆูƒู„ูŽู‡ู… ุฅุฎูˆุงู†ู

27. My tongue falls silent if I speak ill of them
And a gallant youth of a sultan is among them

ูขูง. ุฎุฑุณุช ู„ุณุงู†ูŠ ุฅู† ู†ุทู‚ุชู ุจุฐู…ู‘ูู‡ู…
ูˆุจู„ุนุฑุจูŒ ููŠู‡ู… ูุชู‰ูŽ ุณู„ุทุงู†ู

28. Time has been generous to us through him
So my palms collect its bounty

ูขูจ. ุฌุงุฏูŽ ุงู„ุฒู…ุงู†ู ุจู‡ ุนู„ูŠู†ุง ูุงุบุชุฏุช
ุชู†ู‡ู„ู‘ู ููŠ ุงู„ุฌูŽุฏู’ูˆู‰ ู„ู‡ ูƒูŽูู‘ุงู†ู

29. He is the progeny of the Imam al-Murtaza
The master of wisdom, pure of mind

ูขูฉ. ู‡ููˆ ู†ูŽุณู’ู„ู ุณู„ุทุงู† ุงู„ุฅู…ุงู…ู ุงู„ู…ุฑุชุถู‰
ุฑุจู ุงู„ุจุฑุงุนุฉู ุทุงู‡ุฑู ุงู„ุฃุฐู’ู‡ุงู†ู

30. He gives without excuse, reluctance or
Discontent, with a cheerful and delighted face

ูฃู . ูŠูุนุทู‰ ุจู„ุง ู…ู†ู‘ู ูˆู„ุง ู…ูŽุทู’ู„ู ูˆู„ุง
ูƒุฏูŽุฑู ุจูˆุฌู‡ ูˆุงุถุญ ุญุณู‘ูŽุงู†ู

31. O He who bestows gifts relieving his hands
With generosity at all times in this abode

ูฃูก. ูŠุง ู…ู†ู’ ุชูŽุณูู„ู‘ู ู…ูˆุงู‡ุจุงู‹ ูƒูŽูู‘ุงู‡ ููŠ
ู‡ุฐุง ุงู„ูˆุฑูŽู‰ ุฌูˆุฏุงู‹ ุจูƒู„ู‘ู ุฃูˆุงู†

32. And settled us in an eternal, honorable abode
And delivered us from the ardors of misfortunes

ูฃูข. ูˆุฃุญู„ู‘ู†ุง ููŠ ุฏุงุฑ ุนุฒู‘ู ุฏุงุฆู…ู
ูˆุงู†ุชุงุดู†ุง ู…ูู†ู’ ู†ุงุฑู„ู ุงู„ุญุฏุซุงู†

33. And established us in dignity and felicity
And protected us from the severity of times

ูฃูฃ. ูˆุฃู‚ุงู…ู†ุง ููŠ ุนุฒุฉู ูˆู…ุณุฑุฉู
ูˆุฃุฌุงุฑู†ุง ู…ู† ุดุฏุฉู ุงู„ุฃุฒู…ุงู†ู

34. Without an infringing neighbor, sadness or
Grief seen in his days

ูฃูค. ู„ุง ุฌุงุฑู‡ ู…ุนู‡ ูŠุถุงู…ู ูˆู„ุง ูŠุฑูŽู‰
ูŠูˆู…ุงู‹ ุจุฐู‰ ูƒู…ุฏู ูˆู„ุง ุฃุญู’ุฒุงู†ู

35. Praise in love betrays it
Like a peacock displaying its colors

ูฃูฅ. ุฅู† ุงู„ุซู†ุงุกูŽ ุนู† ุงู„ู…ูˆุฏุฉ ู…ุฎุจุฑูŒ
ู…ุซู„ ุงู„ุทุฑูˆุณ ุชุจูŠู†ู ุจุงู„ุนูู†ู’ูˆูŽุงู†ู

36. I have no ulterior motive, and if I did
My hopes would lead to the fidelity of two lambs

37. And to a abundant, swelling flock
That enriches mankind with sincere devotion

ูŠุบู†ู‰ ุงู„ุนุจุงุฏ ุจุฎุงู„ุต ุงู„ุนูู‚ู’ูŠูŽุงู†ู

38. O son of one who weakened the enemies
In raids, while strengthening allies

ูฃูจ. ูŠุง ู…ู† ุฃุจูˆู‡ ู…ูˆู‡ู† ุงู„ุฃุนุฏุงุก ููŠ
ุงู„ุบุงุฑุงุชู ูˆู‡ูˆ ู…ููˆู‡ู‘ูู† ุงู„ุฃู‚ุฑุงู†ู

39. O son of one who subdued the brave
In battles, while dispersing the horsemen

ูฃูฉ. ูŠุง ู…ู† ุฃุจูˆู‡ู ู…ุฐู„ู‘ู„ ุงู„ุดุฌุนุงู† ููŠ
ุงู„ูˆู‚ุนุงุช ูˆู‡ูˆ ู…ูุฑู‘ูู‚ ุงู„ููุฑู’ุณุงู†ู

40. O son of one honored and extolled
In destiny, while magnified in status

41. O one whom time yielded to
And did not decree except as a captive to lament

42. I have been clothed by your blessings in luxury
Trailing the garment of joy and security

43. And protected me from every great misfortune
Your watchful eyes avert towards me

44. And specified me with affection and benevolence
Until I was diverted from homelands by them

45. Praise and thanks to you, O descendant of our Imam
Through your palmโ€™s generosity whenever branches bear fruit
