1. Bright and fair of form is Ghada
Were she veiled, the full moon would dim

It saw a radiant sun beneath the wings of darkness

3. She whispered to me rebukes of affection
And pondered over the wine cups

4. And said "Why don't you want a drink
That takes away anxiety and pain?"

5. I replied "I do not want the forbidden
Far be it for me to commit a sin"

6. When she saw me and my chastity she ceased
The tears of Irb bin Hizam

7. I meet but am not one of those who if alone
With a flirt pulls the train of sins

8. And flirts have visited me but found me
Chaste in my vigilance and sleep

9. It's as if I learned chastity from
The mighty immaculate king Al-Kamqam

10. Of outstanding merit, Sultan bin Saif Al-Nada
The prosperous, honored through the days

11. Al-Yaaribi Ash-Shammari the virtuous
Of religion, faith and Islam

12. The brave, the just, the sharp, the glorious
The gentle, the chivalrous, the lofty

13. Kings are awed by his might
And see no escape or advance

14. They wish to kiss his slipper and carpet
Remaining standing in awe

15. A king who glorifies whom he wills with his sword
And from him every sharp sword recoils

16. If he only relied on his mind amidst the fury of war
It would suffice him from killing with weapons

17. The lord of generosity, eloquence, argument
And good, beauty, and orphans

18. Without him no man would know the ways
Of glory, criticizing the ignorant, and striking resolutely

19. If looting befalls wealth
Or killing befalls bodies

20. If you come to him bare he will not make you
Feel ashamed, giving freely without words

21. If you say he is like the vast ocean in his generosity
Or say like rain clouds

22. Far it is for the son of Saif to be compared to humans
Or for the generous to be matched

23. He is unparalleled in his glory
The complete in bounty and favor

24. He is the Kaaba of lords, his wealth gushing
With no equal in all eras

25. My lord of abundant generosity
Rather destroyer of foes and death

26. My lord who alone has bravery and splendor
Who ended idol worship

27. My lord who when havoc intensifies and chaos spreads
Meets armies with a drawn sword

28. I called upon you so answer my call
My lord of utmost reverence and esteem

29. Rain upon me clouds of silver pearls
Like the roaring seas foam upon me

30. I swore you never turned away a poor disappointed one
And you repel all assailants in fury

31. You listen to delegations attentively
Deafening them from obeying blamers

32. Of the tribe who ruled the whole desert
You are the protector and refuge of every protector

33. Enough! You exceeded the ultimate
In generosity, heroism, and honor

34. I have scattered upon you a necklace of pearls
Adorned with all gems and order

35. Take them pure of fraud and importunity
For they came for the best imam

36. And related fluently the poetry of Al-Buhturi
And Ibn Al-Hussein the skilled in composition

37. Both their meanings and excellence of diction
Are poetry of significance like Abu Tamam

38. May this life be base that you are eternal
My lord of princes and rulers

39. Upon you always the mercy of our Lord
And upon you a thousand greetings and peace
