2. News that almost made the planets crash down
And turned the firmament into a wasteland

3. The earths almost crept and the
Heavens almost cracked with fear and turmoil

ููุงูู ุชูุดููู ุฎููุฉู ูุงูุชูุงุฏุง
4. Souls were nearly severed from bodies
Grieving in sorrow over loss
ูค. ูุชูุงุฏ ุงูุฃุฑูุงุญ ู
ู ููุนุฉ ุงููู
ุฏุงู ุญูุฒูุงู ุชูุงุฑู ุงูุฃุฌุณุงุฏุง
5. Ships were nearly wrecked by the absence
Of him they sought, battling the waves
ูฅ. ูุชูุงุฏ ุงูููุงุถูุจู ุงูุจูุชูุฑ ู
ู ููุฏ
ุฏู ุนููู ุชุญุงุฑุจู ุงูุฃุบู
ุงุฏุง
6. And people's hearts took flight, mindless,
Though once firm as mountains

ูู ููุงูุช ู
ุซู ุงูุฑูุงุณู ุดุฏุงุฏูุง
7. Everyone wished to ransom you with wealth and children
Had someone been ransomed

ุงู ูุงูุฃู
ูุงุฏ ุทูุฑูุงู ูู ุฃู ุดุฎุตุงู ููููุงุฏูุง
8. On Wednesday night you left
Riding your steed into the dark night
ูจ. ูููุฉ ุงูุฃุฑุจุนุงุกู ูููุชู ุฅุฐู ุบุง
ุฏูุฑุชู ูู ุจููุนู ุงูููุงุนู ุฌูุงุฏูุง
9. Due to the death of the Imam, Sultan bin Saif
Who shook the settled lands

10. He was a sanctuary for the faith, a refuge
For the virtuous, support for the weak

11. A haven for the pious, wealth for the destitute
And a pillar for the people

ุงุฏุง
12. Now he lies alone in a grave
After glory that shook the pillars

ุจุนุฏ ุนูุฒูู ููููููู ุงูุฃูุชุงุฏุง
13. My soul yearns for that noble lord
Whose palm I continually sought

ุฒูุชู ู
ู ุณููุจู ููู ู
ูุณุชูุงุฏุง
14. I will weep for him as long as I live
With tears that speak of life and grief

ูุน ุชุญูู ุงูุญูููุง ูุงูุนูููุงุฏุง
15. And if I weep for an age, I will not shed
A fraction of what he built and secured for me

ูุนุดุงุฑ ู

16. I cannot number his overflowing virtues
Each time I ask, he provides more

17. O what an Imam of truth and honesty
Whose sole concern was pleasing God

ููู ูู ุฐุงุชู ุงูุฅูู ุงุฌุชูุงุฏูุง
18. Dispensing justice, spending wealth, a generous king
Who satisfied people's needs

ูุนุฑุจููู ุฃูููุฑูู ุงูุฃูุงู
ุฒููุงุฏูุง
19. He ruled the people with justice and grace
And through justice, led those he ruled

ุณุงุฏู ุจุงูุนุฏู ู
ู ุชููู ูุณุงุฏูุง
20. God granted him glory, honor,
Generosity, nobility, and succession
ูขู . ูุฏ ุญุจุงูู ุงูุฅูู ู
ุฌุฏุงู ูุนุฒูุงู
ูุณุฎุงุกู ูุทุงุฑูุงู ูุชููุงูุฏุง
21. The sublime preoccupied him, and achieving loftiness
Banishing from him worldly joys and bliss
ูขูก. ุดุบูุชูู ุงูุนูููู ููุณุจู ุงูู
ุนุงูู
ููููู ุนูู ุฒูููููุจุงู ูุณุนุงุฏูุงู
22. Awake at night, communing and beseeching
God, praying for people's righteousness
ูขูข. ููููู ุณุงูุฑุงู ูููุงุฌูู ููุฑุฌู
ุงููู ูุฏุนููู ููุฃูุงู
ุงูุณุฏุงุฏูุง
23. He filled horizons with kindness and care
And regions with guidance and wisdom

ูุฃู ุงูุฎุงูููู ููููุง ูุฌูุฏุงู
ูุงูููุงุญู ูุฏุงูุฉ ูุฑุดุงุฏูุง
24. He led the people of the world gently and kindly
Until they became ascetics devoted to their Lord
ูขูค. ุณุงุณู ุฃูููู ุงูุขูุงู ุจุงูุฑุฃ
ู ูุงููุทูู ูุตุงุฑููุง ูุฑุจูู
ุฒููููุงุฏูุง
25. God was pleased with him in life and death
And granted him contentment and bliss
ูขูฅ. ุฑุถูู ุงููู ุนูู ุญููุงู ูู
ููุชุงู
ูุญูุจุงูู ุงูุฑุถูุงู ูุงูุฅุณุนุงุฏูุง
26. God settled his soul in eternal bounty
Where he will never fear peril
ูขูฆ. ุจูููุฃู ุงููู ุฑูุญู ูู ูุนูู

ุฎุงูุฏุงู ูุง ูุฎุงูู ููู ูููุงุฏูุง
27. It was Wednesday of Dhu al-Qa'dah
That the Imam, I mean Al-Jawad, passed away

ูุชู ุงูุฅู

28. And a thousand and ninety years have gone
In the count of years, as numbers are recited

ูู ุญุณุงุจู ุงูุชุงุฑูุฎ ููุชูููู ุนูุฏุงุฏุง
29. Grief and gloom overwhelm me at his loss
That cuts through the heart

ุง ููุทููุนู ุงูุฃููุจุงุฏุง
30. By God, were it not for Abu Al-Arab Al-Sami
After the Imam we would be ashes

31. And people were tried with immense tribulation
Evident and clear, as righteousness turned to corruption

ุจููููุงู ูุงูุตูุงุญู ุตุงุฑู ูุณุงุฏุง
32. Matters became difficult and people began
Lamenting ruin and destruction

ูู ุงูุฃู
ุฑู ุงูุดุฏูุฏู ูุฃุถุญู
ุงูุฎููู ุจุงููููู ูุงูุซุจูุฑู ุชูุงุฏูู
33. But God blessed us
With a generous one who never breaks his promise

ูููู ูุถูุง ุนูููุง
ุจุฌูุงุฏู ูุง ูุฎูููู ุงูู
ูุนุงุฏูุง
34. By God, were the King embodied
He would be its head, heart and soul
ูฃูค. ูููุนูู
ูุฑูู ูู ุตูููุฑ ุงูู
ููู ุดุฎุตุงู
ูุงู ุฑุฃุณุงู ูููุจูู ูุงููุคุงุฏูุง
35. We would find no enemies among all people
None but the like of him should be opposed

ุง ูููููุง ูู ุนุฏููุงู ู
ู ุงููุง
ุณ ุฌู
ูุนุงู ุฃู
ุซูู ูุฐุง ููุนูุงุฏูู
36. Hearts accepted him, people united
In loving and befriending him
ูฃูฆ. ูุจูุชู ุงููููุจู ูุงุชูู ุงููุง
ุณู ุนููู ู
ุญุจุฉู ููุฏุงุฏูุง
37. And if servants did not fear their Lord
They too would become his worshippers
ูฃูง. ููุฐุงู ุงูุนุจุงุฏู ูู ูู
ูุฎุงููุง
ุฑุจูููู
ุฃุตุจุญูุง ูู ุนูุจููุงุฏุง
38. God combined in His creations innate natures
That make one forget even his children
ูฃูจ. ุฌู
ุนู ุงูููู ูู ุฎูุงุฆูู ุงูุบูุฑูู
ุทุจุงุนุงู ุชูููุณูู ุงูุฃุจู ุงูุฃููุงุฏูุง
39. He cares not for his wealth, if we asked
He would give, double and increase
ูฃูฉ. ูุง ูุจุงููู ุจู
ุงููู ูู ุณุฃููุง
ูู ุฌู
ูุนุงู ุฃุนูุทูู ูุซููู ูุฒุงุฏูุง
40. If you ask for his soul, he will give it, but
Fear God, show restraint and dread the Reckoning
ูคู . ุฑูุญูู ุฅู ุชุณุฃูููู ูุนุทููููุง ููู
ุฎููู ุงูููู ูุงุนูู ูุงุฎุดู ุงูู
ุนุงุฏูุง
41. So was his grandfather and father
And the noble youth resembles his ancestors
ูคูก. ูููุฐุง ูุงู ุฌุฏูู ูุฃุจููู
ูุงููุชูู ุงูุญุฑูู ูุดุจูู ุงูุฃุฌุฏุงุฏูุง
42. Generous, his abundant generosity
Shames the generous and outdoes the open-handed
ูคูข. ููุฑูู
ุงู ููุฌูููู ุงููุฑู
ู ุงููุฐูู
ูุฏุงู ูููุถุญู ุงูุฃุฌูุงุฏูุง
43. A King who revived every virtue for us
And destroyed rancor and hatred
ูคูฃ. ูู
ูููุงู ุฃูุญููู ููุง ูููู ูุถูู
ูุฃู
ุงุช ุงูุฃุถุบุงูู ูุงูุฃุญุชุงุฏูุง
44. A Master who unified people in love for him
You see no equals oppose him
ูคูค. ุณูุฏุงู ุฌูู
ููุนู ุงูุฃูุงู
ู ุนูู ุญุจูู
ูู ูุง ุชุฑู ูู ุฃุถูุฏุงุฏุง
45. Thus he became qualified for the Imamate
And equal to it, it came to him voluntarily
ูคูฅ. ูููู ูุฏ ุตุงุฑ ููุฅู
ุงู
ุฉู ุฃููุงู
ููู ููุก ููุง ุฃุชุชูู ุชููุงุฏู
46. O descendant of the Imam Sultan, you
Remain the Imam and continue to be called
ูคูฆ. ูุง ุณูููู ุงูุฅู
ุงู
ุณูุทุงูู ูุงู
ุฒูููุชู ุฅู
ุงู
ุงู ููุง ุจุฑุญุชู ุชููุงุฏูู
47. The masses came to you submissive
And handed over leadership to you
ูคูง. ูุฏ ุฃุชูุชูู ุงูุฌู
ูุนู ุฎุงุถุนุฉ ุทู
ุนุงู ููุฏ ุณููู
ุชู ุฅููู ุงูููุงุฏุง
48. It is forbidden for souls who aspire
To greatness to give leadership to other than you
ูคูจ. ูุญุฑุงู
ู ุนูู ุงููููุณ ุงูุชู ุชูุฑู
ููู ุงูุนููุง ุฃู ุชุนุทู ุณููุงู ุงูู
ูุงุฏูุง
49. You are the exemplar Imam in excellence and benevolence
And custom, you have flooded the lands

ุงูุฅู
ุงู
ุจุงููุถู ูุงูุฅุญุณ
ุงู ูุงูุนูุฑู ูุฏ ุบูู
ุฑูุชู ุงูุจูุงุฏุง
50. You truly match your name, O bestower
And I have attained my goal
ูฅู . ุฃูุช ูุง ุฐุง ุงูููุงู ูุงุณู

ูุฃูุง ูุฏ ุจูุบุชู ุงูู
ูุฑุงุฏุง
51. You are a celebration for us, our days
Became, by seeing you, all celebrations
ูฅูก. ุฃูุช ุนูุฏู ููุง ูุฃูุงู
ูุง ุตุงุฑุชู
ุจุฑุคูุงู ููููููุง ุฃุนูุงุฏูุง
52. We thank God, now you are the Imam
For the people, and you rule the servants
ูฅูข. ูุดูุฑู ุงูููู ุญูู ุตุฑุช ุฅู

53. Sleep soundly, free of worries and burdens
Fear no separation or distance

ุฃุดุบุงู ูุง ุชุฎุดู ูุฑูุฉู ูุจุนุงุฏูุง
54. May God increase you in excellence and benevolence
Although you do not seek increase
ูฅูค. ุฒุงุฏูู ุงูููู ู
ูู ูุถูุงู ูุฅุญุณุง
ูุงู ูุฅู ููุชู ูุง ุชุฑูู
ู ุงุฒุฏูุงุฏูุง
55. And strengthen the faith and protect it through you
And debase the enemies and enviers
ูฅูฅ. ูุฃูุนุฒูู ุงูุฏููู ูุงูุญู
ู ุจู ุทุฑูุงู
ูุฃูุฐููู ุงูุฃุนุฏุงุกู ูุงูุญูุณููุงุฏูุง
56. Live, O Caliph of God on earth, and fear not
Any turmoil or hostility
ูฅูฆ. ุนูุดู ูุฏูู
ูุง ุฎูููุฉู ุงููู ูู ุงูุฃ
ุฑุถ ููุง ุชุฎุดู ุฑูุนุฉู ูุนูุงุฏุง
57. And fill days, time, world, age
And era and settlements
ูฅูง. ูุชู
ู ุงูุฃูุงู
ู ูุงูุฏูุฑู ูุงูุฏ
ููุง ุฌู
ูุนุงู ูุงูุนุตุฑู ูุงูุขุจุงุฏูุง
58. O Bani Yarb ibn Zuhran, you
Are the masters of the world and became its pillar
ูฅูจ. ูุง ุจูู ูุนุฑุจู ุจู ุฒูุฑุงู ุฃููุชู
ุณุงุฏุฉู ุงููุฑู ูุตูุฑูุชู

59. Blessed is the tribe God built for them
A towering house in the highest heaven
ูฅูฉ. ุจูุฑูููุชู ู
ู ุนุตุงุจุฉู ูุฏ ุจูู ุงูู
ูู ููุง ูู ุงูุนููุงุกู ุจูุชุงู ู
ูุดุงุฏูุง
60. And singled them out among people with a kingdom
And sufficed them against enemies and rivals

ูููุงูุง ุงูุฃุถุฏุงุฏู ูุงูุฃูุฏุงุฏูุง
61. May God make your rule eternal and elevate you
When you became glorious

ูุงุฌูุชุจุงูู
ู ุฅุฐู ุตูุฑุชู
ู ุฃูู

62. May God destroy your enemies as He destroyed
Before them Thamud and Aad
