1. O quarter, where do you think the loved ones went
Did they find salvation after us or did they perish

2. They removed from the eye the blackness even if they intended
And from the heart the place that I conceal

3. They left and in the heart the longing after them remains
And grief throughout the passage of time has pitched its tent

4. They traveled and they concealed the journey, but rather
The journey progresses when the darkness blankets the stars

5. And my spirit replaced loneliness with their company
May God not make desolate the homes left by them

6. Were it not for them I would not have stood amongst their homes
Perplexed, hovering around their abodes and sinning

7. O homes of loved ones where are they and which
Patience remains after being separated from them

8. O inhabitants of the Sacred City, but rather
In my heart along with yearning for the shrine you dwelt

9. Would that I were among those who spend the evening
In Mina, when the comrades gathered for the season

10. That I may succeed, if the guardian is inattentive, with a glance
From you when the pilgrims utter the call to prayer and enter ihram

11. Verily I remember you when the dawn sun rises
Toward you so I greet you

12. Send me no greetings in the breeze
I am jealous of the breeze because of you

13. I am a man who willingly sold his fortune
From this life for my fortune that is you

14. So I was content with none but you and was satisfied
With none but you and renounced all but you

15. And I saw all the worlds with disdain
If the envious could see what I saw, they would be blind

16. After my brother who left me, there has been
No one else to confide in except to complain to him

17. He is the one, no owner possessed his excellence
Never! Not even my mother who raised me

18. I strengthened his melodies and kept his encampment busy
And sometimes he would abandon the lair and move on

19. And calamities tested the resolve of the glorious Majid
Like a sword that determines and executes its purpose

20. O you who travel with glory away from us
Will you have a return to us someday?

21. A people you tied together mourn you
Since you left, they have no group that can be organized

22. You have a favor upon them, even if they deny it
Like necklaces of pigeons and blessings

23. They were ignorant and so thought your absence a gain
When you traveled though truly it was a loss

24. The eye acknowledged that indeed without you
They perished in their enmity while you are protected

25. God did not protect the son of Ma'sum from
Afflictions and the wretched, vile scoundrel perished

26. And you were succeeded by the most honorable company
Who initiated good deeds for you and completed them

27. By the glory of your excellence, honoring them
The generous man is honored by the generous

28. Brave heroes are the best of those who carried
Spears, and the Kings of Qahtan, they are they

29. Humble though if you saw their club
You would not speak, dazzled by their majesty

30. It is enough glory and honor for them that
The one crowned with invitation is from them

31. He is the brightest star in the sky of their ascent
And the sons of his father the sons of Zurei’ are stars

32. A protected King though for the slanderers he is
Hell, but for his chastity he is paradise

33. He praised you for what you bestowed though you
Of the attributes of your glory, O Greatest King, are more sublime

34. So forgive my shortcoming and count it as
What you generously bestow on me and bless me with

35. Along with the fact that I circulated strange things about you
Like pearls, but more beautiful to one who understands

36. You rise with the darkness of night erased
And you travel secretly while the planets sleep

37. And if exploits are listed in an assembly
Then the speech begins with them and ends with them

38. And when the reciters recite one of its decisive verses
The listeners say prayers upon you and greet you

39. It is enough that the opinion of the Imam of your time refutes
What the enemies determined against you and resolved
