1. I wished, as people desire wishes,
To reach the one sent among the best nation

2. I held firm in my matter to his covenant of love
And the covenant of the best of creation is the most noble covenant

3. His love has possessed me, for his love
Is security for my soul in the return and rest

4. I enjoyed in this life the blessing of praising him
So problems were solved and sorrows assuaged

5. I continued excessively in that scope with disasters
I cast toward it the excellence of those crises

6. The talismans of my poetry are his praises
Whose pages drive away every distress

7. The perfection of the edifices of glory is Muhammad
By him those glories were completed and perfected

8. In him glory took such possession
As honored hands were singled out and spread

9. His matter was facilitated by the revelation sent down
And by the sword, if silence from revelation nodded

10. He was filled with bounty and good character
So that his goodness perfumed the lands and grew
