1. Passion leads to misguidance, and misguidance is to follow passion,
So woe to him whose singing made him obey his passion,

2. This worldly life is humiliation, and indeed
The young man becomes honorable through righteousness, not through anything else,

3. Your humiliation is a loss, so seek success through piety,
For piety is a clear path that leads to it,

4. He is the Truth, and the guide to Him is Muhammad,
And Gabriel conveyed it from the Lord of worshipers,

5. Your guides are the verses of the Scripture, and indeed they
Heal the burning thirst of whoever complains of his thirst,

6. The yearnings of my longings embarked
To a grave after life enclosed it,

7. My worries from the heat of departure, so you do not see
Anything but scorching sands burning the dunes,

8. Quenching, so whoever was thirsty, thirst intensified for him
There, and whoever was hungry, hunger intensified for him,

9. I fell in love with being content with whoever I fell for,
So bring him closer to whoever loves his intent,

10. My passions are my tears or my passions are my wings,
It spread what the bare land enclosed,
