1. O seeker of this world, you sought illusion
And accepted from those beauties what is false

2. Your life is either temptation or tribulation
And I see you in both overwhelmed

3. And I see the years pass you by swiftly
That I almost reckon them as months

4. While it shows you its crescent on its horizon
I saw it after that waning

5. It was firm then became cycles
It must throw the flowers and rotate

6. Darkness comes and no sooner does it blacken an expanse
Than its writing is seen dispersed

7. And when the dawn came and extended its cloak
Evening shed its outstretched cloak

8. They alternate upon you, this one spreading
Musk, and this one spreading camphor

9. The musk and camphor are but to let you see
From your actions, restraint and magnification

10. From their two colors, a mark came upon your forehead
That marks anxiety and shortcoming

11. Until when will you not take heed and until when
Or have you not met the gray hair's warning

12. I fear for you from sins, for the small
Sin may become for the sinner great

13. So look after yourself, I am counseling you
And seek forgiveness from God, you'll find Him Forgiving

14. Before your final resting place which receives
The cheeks of the young upon the dust, despised

15. And the horror, then the horror on the day
You find what you put forth inscribed
