1. I incline to praise the Messenger, my strength devoted
To relate his news and speak of him

2. My praise of him is obedience and worship
So of each virtue of his I search

3. My reward is with my Lord, so His pardon suffices me
How much useless talk do I utter and babble

4. I drank deep of the cup of love, so hear my murmuring
In that is a companion for the boon friend and a third

5. He took refuge after his parents' death in Mecca
With his grandfather, then uncle, nothing would happen

6. A noble refuge, not following their religion
Nor passion for their worldly life clinging

7. Thirty years then three more
Added to the first seven, so he began relating

8. "Establishment, establishment, O Muhammad, I
Am the Truth so be steadfast, the time of sending is near"

9. The folds of guidance, so look, this is Our book
Preparing what you call to and softening

10. Be firm, O servants of God, to your Prophet
Racing to salvation, do not delay

11. Steadfast and loyal, fulfill your covenant
For the loyal and oath-breaker are not equal

12. Trust in God's reward, your fate
Is to a blissful garden or scorching hellfire

13. Fruit of your efforts tomorrow you will harvest
Tasting what is good and rotten from it

14. Your wealth is the religion of Prophet Muhammad
So bite into it with determination and be penetrating

15. May you be ruined if you deviate from his path
So do not deviate, for it is the new path

16. Dirt of his land is good, would that
I could rub my cheek in it and take comfort

17. Great wealth to spend over the dirt
Nights of tears from my eyes pouring

18. Three securities for me, visiting his grave
Seeing him in my sleep and on the day I am resurrected

19. Bereft am I of brothers who were able
To see the noble grave, yet linger

20. Hard on him to leave his family
But this must be, so he lingers perforce
