1. The stars are signs of the Prophet, radiant jewels
With them our tribulations were made clear to us

2. Perfect examples of moons in their light
We walked and the paths were not dark to us

3. Completions saving the drowning completer
When disasters surround the drowning

4. Loyal friends in this world and the next, evidence
When the wayfarer strays from the path’s way

5. Maidens of Eden await a band
For them in the lofty palaces are kingdoms

6. Companions in the Gardens, houri companions
The swelling breasts defend them

7. Completions of spirits that go to acceptance
And without acceptance, for one who fails no owner

8. My longing towards the grave of Muhammed
So I have none but this poem, my possessions

9. Perfections of my agonies appeared with my tears
And my heart's torment spilled out, unraveling

10. Entities of this age discourage possessor
So no possessor is alive, nor does he own
