1. My friend, jesting turns serious into jest
And the wisdom of youth fails when old age comes

2. I ended my praises with praising Prophet Muhammad
My compositions that I would dictate and transcribe

3. Take the biography of the Chosen One made into poetry
With it, his praises become fragrant and imbued

4. It is fitting that the leader be singled out
Through him ages are built and creation flourishes

5. The Messenger of God’s departure from Mecca
Was realized by the Helpers, thus it was chronicled

6. They feared some of what the Truthful feared, so they became
Confused, and the position of the people receded

7. Six passed after six for Rabee’
And the clear truth came to them, so they were addled

8. Every light faded when his light shone
And the disbelief of the ungrateful faded

9. The she-camel of the Chosen kneeled as commanded, by him
To the house of Abu Ayyub, without fatigue

10. She took steps, then returned to her place
Casting her saddlebags in the dirt as she snorted

11. The loss of the Jews through their disbelief in him
So for them on earth there is no refuge

12. Except for Ibn Salam, for he became a Muslim
And the sincerity of the Hawazin remained firm

13. The purity of the hearts of the believers was clear to him
So he legislated brotherhood, and the brother was pleased with the brother

14. The path of God’s Messenger was before them
And it erased the submersion of ignorance

15. Gardens flourished, unified, then born
They were imbued with the morals of prophethood

16. Cheeks of blossoming knowledge and wisdom
And a stream whose flowing water gushes

17. My cheeks, strip yourself of your sins and purify
For you are smeared with those sins

18. Your salvation is loving the Chosen One and following him
For on the Day of Judgment, none other will avail

19. A noble role model whose reputation reproof does not stain
Through him hearts’ fear is dispelled and hope flourishes
