1. My hopes to reach the Prophet's tomb I send
Greetings, though time has wasted my glory

2. A longing lover whose tears fill his eyes
That sleep's specter doesn't fast from fear of ardour

3. It was my wish to visit his tomb
And I'm content with the meadows and sky

4. My prime after its perfect balance
Time showed me loss after growth

5. It weakened my limbs except the weakest
And left my meadow thirsty when my water dried

6. My hair turned white in years though still soft
My heart on my bow, so how can I shoot?

7. Ruin threw me down; if my she-camel reached me
She wouldn't leave me thirsty among the thirsty

8. Muhammad is the imam of all prophets
And the noblest emissary of the noble

9. The world's safety from what they fear is in loving him
So love that ignited my tears with blood

10. It killed my sorrow, set my ribs aflame
So take my hand, O most merciful of the merciful
