1. Rejoice in the everlasting glory of the herald
And ascendancy that remains through the days

3. O protector of the refugees, to you belongs the soul
Whose deeds adorn the soul of steadfastness

4. O best of those who protect the abundant
Harvest that ripens after early drought

5. You are but a towering mountain of forbearance
To which we repair, an immense sea of knowledge

6. Rejoice, your grace outshines all others
With humiliation low and your glory high

7. O leader of the noble steeds in battle
That race like arrows swiftly loosed from bows

8. How often has your valor in the fray laid low
The hills and filled the valleys on the day war was joined

9. I have emancipated my poems from the aim of the vile
And you have spared me in your kindness and bounty

10. And I have drunk from your good tidings the water
That portends success through all my years

11. So I will thank you always in assemblies
Giving thanks as the meadows do for every cloud

12. My soul is nourished, under the rule of a just vizier
Whose wisdom in his governance is obscurity

13. Whose probity and integrity in the morning
Rebut any vile accusations made against him

14. Supporter through every misfortune-filled night
And comforter through every lengthy day of fasting

15. Supporter of guidance and religion, O you whose opinion
In discourse is sharper than well-honed swords

16. To you belongs the radiant sun whilst seated
And when mounted, Sirius in the late summer

17. I come to you for generosity, benevolently disposed
And warring you remain, striking with blows

18. Thus you have remained supreme in high resolve
And attained the crown of glorious ambition

19. We meet with you peerless in generosity
O guardian of orphans in time of misery

20. In an empire whose days will never end
With glory established forever firm
