1. The meadows are adorned, spring is here,
Rise and vent your woes, shed no more tears.

2. Our skies are raining goodness and bliss,
Our land blossoms, gardens that please and kiss.

3. Shy roses blush red in their beds,
Narcissus eyes watch over flower heads.

4. Strung pearls of dew make necklaces,
Showers adorn them on leaves’ dresses.

5. The breeze strokes the pond and stirs
Ripples that dance, skipping in whirs.

6. Life’s tavern always has fun galore,
Monasteries and temples are places we adore.

7. Wine and lutes are ours to take,
Incense and music our souls awake.

8. Our flasks brimmed and flutes sounded clear,
Lutes and pipes played tunes for our ears.

9. A beauty sashays in drunken thrill,
Fiery hips that set hearts a-swill.

10. The breeze fans her charm no mortal can tell,
Caves envy the fragrance her tresses foretell.

11. When darkness falls she glows in her glass,
Her wine glitters, no need for lamps.

12. Her wine’s first sip all sins overwrite,
She shines as if men saw the first light.

13. Her smile in that magical moment divine
Bewitched me better than any wizard or wine.

14. She’s the full moon in the night’s gown
The rising sun when dawn’s crown is shown.

15. A girdle tied round her tiny waist,
Slender as the thinnest thread lace.

16. I swear by the glorious ancient House
Veiled by curtains hiding the Spouse.

17. And this mosque whose floors often bless
Pilgrims’ knees when they bow or press.

18. Prince of Glory, Abu Muhammad in brief
For all time shall be the finest chief.

19. Matchless jewel of the Hashemi vein
Brightest star, shining moon without stain.

20. His ideals are firm and grand,
Wisdom flows like grains of sand.

21. His will equals that of mighty fates
Moirai, Furies and such mates.

22. When the noble knight his sword snatches
Multitudes find help in his dispatches.

23. His virtues shine in accounts historic
Sweet to hear like song melodic.

24. His stream of generosity never wanes
Only when cowards leave no gains.

25. His wisdom belt holds a great nation
Loyal vassals of dedication.

26. Heroes yearn to bask in his glory,
But few may reach summit so lofty.

27. He's a meadow where dawn fairies band
Tame tigers and make peace in the land.

28. Donning robe of meekness for any nation
Is shameful, keep such abomination!

29. But for him our songs wouldn’t sell
In markets where praises rarely yell.

30. O scion of Abu Nasr and his band
Valiant warriors that boldly stand!

31. When foes assemble and tempers flare
None can match the wrath they bare.

32. Birds rejoice when they befriend,
Earth trembles when legions they send.

33. Many a loss they turned around
Many a shame they confound.

34. With long spears in bloody pits
Short lives they grant to opposite wits.

I swear no era treated with spite

36. A pauper whose friend is your might.
Your treasure is virtuous fame, pride in it,

37. Most precious of treasures is merit.
You’ll live long as the moon acclaims
