1. The lightning flashed in the valley,
Illuminating the valleys and flashing,

2. Your eyelids remained closed on an evil day,
While fever made your tears glisten,

3. Regretting the absence of the beloved one,
While discord enveloped those separated,

4. The moments passed intoxicated with the nectar of youth,
Softly murmuring like a turtle dove,

5. With beautiful features like a summertime plant,
Its saliva pleasant and most elegant,

6. A moon lending its beauty to the expectant one,
Seducing with a seductive glance,

7. Disturbing the bracelet and its ornament,
Like a lover's heart, anxious and restless,

8. Sprinkling hearts as it passed by,
Swaying like a delicate branch,

9. I reproached it while the star hung,
In the ear of nightfall, dangling,

10. With the shadow in the leaves of the arbor,
Wavering while the shade turned green,

11. And its morning in a garden,
That spent the night facing the south wind, wilting,

12. Golden flaming
Like lightning in the darkness shining,

13. The full moon walks towards its cup,
Through the vines, sipping,

14. It blew and its breeze dispersed musk,
Subtle and fragrant when it wafts,

15. What excellent praise I utter about it,
Eloquent eulogies, composed and structured,

16. Eternal blessings upon the magnificent lord,
And his achievements, most wise and redolent,

17. An ocean swimming in the sea through the efficacy of his fingers, lest it drown,
A lion fearing the lion on the day of panic, his might tearing apart,

18. The determined one takes steps illuminated and polished, smooth,
No hardship can help him nor any favor burden him,

19. If I praise none but him,
I have found the one I praise to be truthful,

20. Or I have illuminated the traits of censure,
Shining with generosity and radiance,

21. With his vision he pastures the enemy,
And his wrath at night is disturbing,

22. He established the market of poetry after its recession,
On the prairie of praise, toiling,

23. O Father of Excellence and Munificence,
The river of generosity tomorrow will flow,

24. O son of the one whose justice encompassed the country and its people,
Supporter of the religion of God thereby achieving glory and success,

25. His opinions are a wall for the state of the Abbasids,
And a trench for it he fights unrelentingly,
