1. O supporter of the faith, your blood is obedient,
You judge fairly in ruling and legal matters,

2. O comforter of mankind, meanings,
Morals, character, and tendencies,

3. O you who when given gold sees only generosity,
Not thinking of keeping anything for yourself,

4. O you who every day practices generosity,
Your early blessings are like fresh herbage,

5. Why are my little ones crying longingly
For bread in the corners?

6. And you after God send
His lightning across the deserts,

7. So have mercy on small children
Who are emaciated from hunger,

8. Make them your responsibility, distinguished poet,
So the last remnants survive in this world,

9. Or were you formerly generous
With heaps of favors?

10. None but you has quickly attained wishes
While your enviers tasted death,

11. So allot them a pension like a people
You have accustomed to your generosity,

12. Revealing with your gifts their condition
Hastening to end these afflictions,

13. Make happy with this feast, live long, and make
All but you on it among the victims!
