1. Smiling and laughing with joy
Bending like a supple branch

2. My cup circled for a moment like a leaf
Equally delighted by the divine nectar

3. The pleasures of union came to me through affection
Bringing to the lover what he wishes

4. And his gentle gaze met my heart
So his heart was like mine

5. With a cheek whose rose color the breeze makes fresher
Plucked gently by the hand of the beloved

6. And glances that bless with their radiance
Arrows to the hearts that captivate them

The next morning after he left, with tears flowing

9. Though I was still, there is no peace
Until the flowing of tears has stopped for me

10. If it is not allowed me to torment my heart
And his love overpowers my weakness

11. I said that benevolence has an owner
Other than the Master, my father the excellent

12. The knight of beautiful meadows
And reared horses and brown spears

13. A knight whose shade of forgiveness extends
To the sinner among us who transgressed

14. A steed unmatched in excellence
Counting favors but no one counts his

15. The brother of great boons that
Came to him and left from his grace

16. Worthy of generosity and bestowal
The heart, hand and tongue flow

17. Cheerful faced, praised in manners
Far reaching in courage, fragrant with melody

18. Generous of promise, smiling,
Pouring forth goodness like rain

19. His forehead shines in every discourse
Firm in munificence like a Yemeni blade

20. The dew of his hands reaches the displaced
And he raises the eulogizers without pause

21. He is quicker to honor than clouds
And firmer when wise than mountains

22. How much tumult and conflict turned away
From his sides, like a spear or sword thrust

23. I came to his valiant horses in white
Prepared for his army like purple

24. He has attained the highest, most noble gate
After him time itself leaned

25. The ministers' resolve, competence
Loyalty, and lofty station

26. Glory of the faith, O kingly in stature
Vanquishing the hostile among us

27. You were moved by the singer's melody
As if their praises were heavenly hymns

28. No garden is fresher, more verdant
Watered by rainfall like clusters

29. Over its beds blows a gentle breeze
Slow moving, languid, while I

30. With your finest day that ever shone radiance
And your most beautiful of creations

31. So flow, O most generous of all
And submit the hostile and humble his stature

32. Never in its days has time’s turning
Demolished glory that you rebuilt
