1. O you who are departing in estrangement, going away
You are nearing passion though you are moving away

2. The blamer has lied about you
And the well-wishers are accused of blame

3. And you were content that you would pardon
Reunion, even if you showed forgiveness

4. How many sighs for you in love
Reveal during the rising of my ribs

5. And a kindled fire that has been ignited
As if it is in the palm of one who lights it

6. The secret does not remain for one whom I loved
Misfortune was granted last night

7. O Lord, one day pass by me
In the softness of the brilliant dawn

8. And the water smooth like mirrors
As if it were sheets of silver

9. And the dew in the branches of the trees, wandering
And the shade outstretched

10. And the roses at dawn
Spraying from the falling rain

11. And on the bending branches
Are doves, singing noisily

12. As if they are delegations praising Ahmad
When they recite poems
