1. Give respite to the lover, for you are not one of his confidants
Content with what he finds of solace

2. No malady kills the passionate lover
His life is in dying for his love

3. Do not blame the enamored for his passion
In the evening, longing's flames fill his mind

4. If you cannot be a friend, do not be
A foe, leaving him be with his sighs

5. Swaying like a branch, buffeted by passions
The forbearing sways dangerously adrift

6. Wondrous is the blush of his cheek, how it glows
Ever growing in the fire of his love

7. A moon wandering in his darkness and light
The radiance of dawn on his brow its glory

8. I've not forgotten, when he visited me stealthily
Watching for unmindfulness in my neck's turn

9. He hides, so the spies detect him
By the scent - recognizable when remembered

10. His life - if not for shyness and fear
I'd have kissed often the rose of his cheek

11. I would have given him the sweetest union
If he had not soured it with his disdain

12. I fret for the loss of youth, and tomorrow
The wisdom of old age dons its raiment

13. Days have settled me in sorrow and loss
With the mole on the cheek in its blackness

14. Old age draws near, if only it had learned
From the justice and grace of our Lord

15. I swear no better foot has trod the earth
More generous in giving wealth

16. A sturdy pillar of glorious Hashemites
Succor comes freely from its thresholds

17. He brought the holy plain to lush greenery
For those hopeful of his springtide renewal

18. With manners like a garden, his life gives cheer
Magic smiles and laughter mid tears

19. The enlightened among us in our plight
And those seeking his wise counsel

20. Of a folk who inherited the Black Stone and Zamzam
As their legacy, with the Kaaba's environs

21. Our days smiled at him, cheered up
Swaying joyously like a wanderer

22. Her illness has not ceased to delight
If only she had a voice to tell of her joy

23. With justice filling the land with homes
Where his surplus spills its abundance

24. Ruling the flock with kindness, till they
Became free of fetters and bondage

25. This one imploring, and that
Hoping he will answer a call

26. Healing the sick and destitute nearing recovery
Swiftly coming with succor

27. How many crises has he resolved
With decisive action in times of trial

28. When war's helpers rage, his army appears
Victory glistening amidst their weapons

29. And polished blades the dawn has gilded
Swords flashing like lightning in their sheaths

30. To foes he dispenses death or life
In his taking and giving equally

31. No dark thoughts made my brother despair
Unless met with his visage of hope

32. A plenteous cloud bestowing choice wealth
Nobly, when clouds withhold their rain

33. Let his fathers be, and ponder how
His glory exalted the Exalted and ancestors

34. O Abu Muhammad the Imam, the prayer
Of one made your companion in call

35. Indeed, in the minister I found the fruits
Of enlightened rule dispelling darkness

36. God supported religion through his finest
Piety solving intricacies with insight

37. None seduced by love of you in the world entire
For purity, like his sincerity

38. How many seas taken on for your enemies
And kindled war's flames in their surging

39. God protects us, guarding the secret of our clan
With lasting reign over us continually

40. Rejoice in a month that heralded your ascent
To highest summit and zenith

41. And well-being, best of creation sought
What stars shine in the sky's expanse
