1. I greeted the ruins and dwelling
That has changed from what I was accustomed to

2. And the hands of time played with its features
Until they were effaced

3. So if it was pardoned and avoided
TheRaindrops on its polished marble

4. How often have I sat in its courtyard
And gathered the scattered love

5. The days of the branches of youth
In the gardens of play outspread

6. And union awakening absence
And the eyes of the maiden gazing

7. With every love-sick lover
And curls softly waving

8. My moon, if drawn close
And a slim form leaning

9. Two gazelles brought me to the ardour
With the shyness of their rosy cheek

10. Uniquely beautiful of face
A heart saddened in solitude

11. Adorner of song, charming talk and tinkling anklets
How often the bosoms met

12. That breast with necklaces adorned
And I say the shadows turn

13. To the languor of one fading away
And it melts me with a teardrop

14. Flowing down a faded cheek
So if shared with him, I say

15. And give him in beauty more
O helper, how many nights

16. In love, and how much have I wasted
In the love of the deceitful one

17. Whose perfidy has blinded these eyes
I tend the stars as if they are

18. In the horizon, pearls in aquamarine
Do you think it's forbidden that I live

19. When my eyes are not downcast
Except for praising Allah

20. And the Caliph, the noble Ahmad
Help Abu Al-Abbas the generous

21. The house of Abbas and most munificent
The glorious whitener of deeds

22. And defender of drought-stricken lands
And the aspirant hoping for his call

23. With an aspirant call from him extended
In Yemen supported and in governship

24. Mansur victorious and aided
Who repeats benevolence whenever

25. His aspirants appeal and petition
The rectitude of his sound judgement

26. We see in action his promises fulfilled
His benevolence has no limit

27. And his generosity uncounted
A King who gently guides

28. The pliant necks, whether coaxed or compelled
Najd envies his generosity

29. Roaming and in settled lands
He has no allies to abandon

30. Or known kindness to become estranged
He intends to elevate whom God

31. Exalts, building high what He founded
A necklace of which gathered

32. In his glorious Majesty strands
So the discourse of every generosity

33. is true, by his turban steadied
As if his resolve alone

34. Bridled his tongue made wise
Generosity is his habit

35. And man grows used to what he's accustomed
Resolve decided, deed refined

36. And opinion carefully considered
When ready for the undertaking

37. His famed sword sheathed
Defender of the truth, preceding

38. If defenders precede and make firm
In an arena where the brave

39. Intend, and the people aim
Where death descends with spears

40. And souls ascend
Of Hashim and their covenant

41. At the pinnacle of steady glory
The House of Al-Hatim, Zamzam

42. The House, and the Holy Precinct
You created the robes of nobility

43. And the mantle of their pride renewed
Who make the centers of descent tremble

44. With a revered aura every prey
And who make the landings of revelation

45. Upright like their assembled hills
O supporter of the faith, wise

46. Ruler, empowered with eternal kingship
And gladdened by the honour which still

47. Endures with his state everlasting
How dark the bright night

48. That gives light to those travelling, so slumber
