1. The tents of generosity are now empty of bounty
So leave my worries after their departure to afflict me

2. I stood at a pasture whose beauty was everlasting
Where fragrant blossoms sprang forth from every blossom

3. I ask after names while tears ask after me
I speak of them in fear though I do not name them

4. In the red sands a white doe
Like the full moon amid the Pleiades keeping vigil with the stars

5. Dawn shines on her brow in the morning
And by day she is hidden in the clouds of her hair

6. They attributed her to an arrow, would that she
Had become, while apart from all others, only my arrow

7. She has glances that make the forbearing weep when she gazes
And make the hearts of lovers silent, though they cause no bloodshed

8. She sways like a branch bent by the morning breeze
And her cheek wounds like a rosebud in illusion

9. She smiles with sweet lips as if
They were cool aquamarine stones cooled in the shade

10. As if upon her there still lingers
The honored lineage of Aleppo's generosity

11. She is like a strand of my hair or my brother al-Hajj's qualities
My father's pride, nobility, and generosity

12. A youth who fills all eyes with courage and help
And who defeats destitution for us with wealth

13. Quick to good deeds, slow to evil
Close to us with bounty, far from bloodshed

14. When he sees his protected mother, his palm
Is more righteous than the stars, pairing with the new moon

15. He is the sea in knowledge, and clouds in bounty
He is the towering mountain, steadfast in wisdom and forbearance

16. You see in him a fierce attacking lion in war
And a beneficial rain in times of peace and harmony

17. Of noble stock, when the ranks of his spears are numbered
Unrestrained, with a pure and spotless lineage

18. Steady in bearing, his spear clashing with spears
Calm, patient amidst the clamor of weapons

19. A guarantor, if war falls silent, to rouse it again
With a tumult that shows you gleaming swords amid the fray

20. With your bounty, Majd al-Din, most generous of all
You raised my endeavor above the stingy, and cleared my worries

21. You have firmly built the edifice of nobility and excellence
And barred the doors of baseness with your resolve and determination

22. So you persist in gaining praise and eulogy
And giving freely with abundant fortune and provision
