1. I bring you glad tidings, O light of the flashing lightning,
And your resolve is severing the rushing torrents,

2. And you are a sky for the loyal, abundant rain,
Yes, you are poison for the enemies, bitter and burning.

3. Your breeze is gentle for those hoping, your downpours bountiful,
But for oath-breakers it is tumultuous and turbulent.

4. A youth endowed with generosity and dew,
Who has none but you to intercede for him.

5. I swear you know people's lifetimes,
For you created mankind with your hands.

6. You have fulfilled loyalty in full,
So neither wealth is doomed nor neighbor forsaken.

7. Your blade severs any betrayer if he rebels,
And your sword destroys if any disavows.

8. Awake, you tend to the welfare of your subjects,
So all are safe while the fangs are dormant.

9. If the fires of turmoil flare up and rage,
You march against them while the spears skirmish.

10. You made the texts' blades polished as if
Gray stallions galloped over them from the north.

11. You have made us skilled artisans for the minister,
Blessed hands and excellent craftsmen.

12. Leave off pride that debases a youth
Full of graceful dew, humble.

13. Noble by nature, sharp with generosity,
For munificence is only what nature hones.

14. When engaging the enemy heedless and recklessly,
His tears are but an aspect of wisdom and composure.

15. A youth whose figure in battle is red, his hair blond,
When the tails of steeds clash, he is a raging storm.

16. When warring enemies one day reconcile,
Eagles over their carcasses and dovecotes.

17. The swirling attacks have exhausted the enemy cavalry
And many a calamity from them befell the land.

18. I swear the Karami tribe and their leader
Are suns guided by your towering ambitions.

19. They are lions when the affairs of the brave seethe,
And they are downpours when the land is arid.

20. The meadows smile not save when the rain drops kiss them,
As the branches of acacia trees sway gently.

21. When the doves in them coo, the place comes alive,
More beautiful than your rhymes, Yaĥyá, as you listen.

22. My lord supporter of the faith, your kindness is limited
When hopes are dashed and your generosity vast.

23. You give freely though the clouds are stingy,
And you grant openly while people forbid.

24. You would revive accounts of the Prophet and his law,
And works like those you authored revive jurisprudence.

25. You verified the soundness of the two Şaĥīĥs,
And only echoed reliable discourse.

26. Far off spears on the day of their eclipse,
If their return to power is prolonged, will come back.

27. And if on that day the enemies are slaughtered,
Let them graze in your meadows aplenty.

28. For time does not raise up whom you put down,
Nor does fate lower whom you raise high.
