1. I was greeted from a quarter and an abode
Where the resting place of the tender gazelle was

2. A cheek resting against the bending sand dunes
And the smooth rock on the slope of the hill

3. She used to pitch her tent there
In the days of that early time

4. And I used to secretly visit her
Among the meandering pipes of the trailing canal

5. Nobles with no defect or companion
Except for the clanging of the decapitating sword

6. And her people, their people are known
And one of them carries on his shoulder

7. They protect even the crops from their land
With horses and even armored horses

8. And they prevent the sun if it rises
Upon the resting place of the tender gazelle

9. God afflicted me with their nights
And He may grant well-being although He may try me

10. They threatened me so I avoided her
As a thirsty man avoids the waterhole

11. And they threatened her so she sent me
A message, my soul her ransom

12. She said, “What happened is simple
Death is easy for me as long as you are mine”

13. And if I were given the choice of meeting you
And eternal life in Heaven, I would not accept

14. Your love is innate in me, never ending
And generosity is innate in the people of Mudar

15. I read their ruins in the sands but they
Are above the towering, isolated cliff

16. The age of Al-Farooq is around it
Muhammad is like the Chosen Prophet

17. The people of glory and loyalty
And they do not care about isolation

18. May they last the eternal days in bounty
And in continuous, approaching authority
