1. Perhaps people settled in al-Aqiq
They knew I stayed up while they slept

2. My eyes find solace should their beards appear
On the sweet, white tents

3. And I rejoice should the clouds water their lands
So a young plant sprouts near them and Basmah

4. And a critic, why does the pigeon moan
When your love's longing hurts you

5. So I told them some wounds
Can be reopened and passion reiterated

6. They say, leave the critics be and if only they knew
They wouldn't have condemned the critics nor blamed

7. I asked you, did you come to the tents with a cure
While the moons are under it, complete

8. Greet the aloof, indifferent ones and tell them
Peace, does peace bring the distant near?

9. If only the people of the valley, their homes were my homes
If only the time of the valley lasted and they lasted

10. As for you seeing me not awaken from passion
The looks of the deadly eyes are my wine
