1. A gentle fragrant breeze blew by,
Calling my heart at dawn so I hastened delighted.

2. Was it Nur Ahmad's radiance
That shone brightly, splitting the glowing horizon?

3. For you have brought me joy and relief,
Easing my worries and freeing my anxious heart.

4. But not every Hejaz breeze is fragrant,
Nor does every light bring joy to East and West.

5. For that land's people made a solemn pact
Known to me - though ties are now severed.

6. Still, hoping they'd return, I court the winds
That blow from their distant abode, chasing the clouds.

7. Memories of those I've not forgotten
Make tears flow down my cheeks in streams.

8. Oh how I remember, how I yearn!
My tears flow, my heart is seized with agony.

9. My beloved ones, though our love was peerless,
Departed as youth's carefree days drew to a close.

10. Now no kinship remains, no herald comes
To gladden my heart and give news of them.

11. The fever's cooing doves made him weep, but
When they gathered around him, he found no solace.

12. The perfume of the breeze confused him -
Was it a gentle fragrance or a sweet breeze that blew?

13. It was but the soul of Heaven's garden,
The pride of all Arabs, the best of mankind.

14. The guiding Prophet who led the misguided,
Bringing monotheism to idol worshippers.

15. We hoped through him to find mercy,
As his nation gained supremacy.

16. He still calls us to worship God alone,
Until we were pleased with God, All-Glorious is He!

17. Without him existence would have no Creator,
No Messengers sent, no Prophets raised by the Merciful.

18. No land ever contained Ahmad's equal.
No womb bore mercy and nobility like his.

19. Reports foretold his coming:
The Merciful will send the best of creation.

20. Moses and Jesus son of Mary gave good tidings of him.
Among the learned some read prophetic texts.

21. When his mother bore him, she saw blessings
As numerous as pebbles - a wondrous sight!

22. The night he was born, angels descended
And all creation welcomed him joyfully.

23. Idols collapsed everywhere,
While Satan's hand was tied - cursed be he!

24. Fires in Persia were extinguished,
And all Syria's Jews were left without magic.

25. The light's rays shone out in Mecca's valley,
As true men raced to reach its beams.

26. Seeing him, they exalted and took pride
In his radiance that dazzled the horizon.

27. They saw a blessed, beautiful child,
Meet to be nourished by a noble wet nurse.

28. They did not doubt he was from Wahb's clan -
The most generous of their kin.

29. He brought Quraish auspicious omens,
Fruitful signs, easing their drought's harshness.

30. East and West enjoyed his bounty,
The ocean's ink could not record it fully!

31. The righteous learned a blessed remembrance
Containing warnings, laws, rules and obligations.

32. Warning persistently till the pagans
Became obstinate, so he opposed them in war.

33. He continued until their might was broken,
Inspiring terror in them by the sword.

34. By God's gentleness their mighty bond was undone,
When he launched thrusts and blows in the fray.

35. No fortress remained impregnable for unbelievers,
No rough terrain, no path too steep.

36. Thus tyrants everywhere were vanquished,
As the hopeful found refuge in the tumultuous year.

37. His open hand rivals the blowing wind,
When North Syria is plagued by catastrophe.

38. If Abraham was distinguished by a ram's sacrifice,
This Prophet was granted ultimate nearness and love.

39. If Musa spoke atop Mount Sinai,
Ahmad traversed the heavens and pierced the veils.

40. If Musa caused water to flow from pure stone,
From Ahmad's fingers the riders drank.

41. If Jesus son of Mary raised the dead,
In Ahmad's eyes the pebbles glorified God!

42. The angels, Messengers and Prophets exalted him,
Above them all, and he surpassed Arabs, non-Arabs and Jinn.

43. See how all the Prophets referred
Intercession to him on Judgement's Day.

44. None but he can say "I am for it",
As no one rivals his lofty station.

45. Tomorrow we will be under his banner's shade,
With a beloved friend and pleasant, pure, cooling water.

46. May God grant you well-being and honor,
You who see only your sins before you.

47. Say: Tomorrow, O Most Merciful's servant, you will be with me,
In the sacred presence of the Forgiver of sins.

48. Whatever hardships you face in either world,
I will ensure you sufficient reward.

49. However far you may be, I am always
Your next door neighbor, guiding sun.

50. It was not my habit, had I performed Hajj,
To then abandon you, nor one who split open love.

51. But time's circumstances are strange,
Though you are most deserving of affection.

52. Cut short my praise of you, accept my petition,
That through your grace I may attain perfection, or come near.

53. Bless my family, loved ones and homeland,
My ancestors, companions and close kin.

54. May God bestow prayers and peace upon you
As long as the horizons glow at dawn and twilight.

55. Prayers and blessings be upon you always,
Increasing, enveloping family, companions and all.

56. Special blessings for you, my Master,
In life and death, including family and companions!
