1. I have found serenity through detachment and patience,
Even if it's a piece carved out from my very soul.

2. I am content with the One whose glory is sublime,
As recompense for all I've lost of kin and child.

3. I give thanks for the blessing I was granted,
From the One who intended only good for me though I did not want it.

4. I endure the pain, hoping God will mend it,
With abundant reward, so I seek His bounty to find it.

5. Whenever disasters strike, I say:
"My master, O messenger of God, take my hand!"

6. Seek help from the son of Aminah, savior of the lost,
When the trials narrow and hopes fade.

7. Best of all people, Arab or non-Arab,
Most honorable of creatures, in wasteland or plateau.

8. Muhammad, best of mankind's chieftains, Mudar,
A neighbor whose nobility is not oppressed.

9. God sent him as an undying sun
Whose light rises above the horizons glowing.

10. A lineage extending from the secret wellspring of prophecy
In the honored valleys of Mecca, cave of the hidden one.

11. From the essence of glory, in the armor of the potter, he arose,
A lord descending from a lordly line.

12. God guided a people gone astray
From the path of right, through him.

13. He healed the blind tribe, saved it
From a terrible cliff, made them whole again.

14. He corrected their ruinous course, showed them
The right way, reformed all their crooked ways.

15. He rose to guide them on the straight path - so many
Were led aright by the truth through him.

16. He brought good fortune and faith to guide us
With light out of the darkness of loss and grief.

17. The heavens and earth bear witness to his signs
And miracles, infinite in number.

18. He transcended sands, scattered rains, and vegetation's counting,
The waves of the sea and its foam.

19. How I yearn for that beloved one, though after
Me he came, leaving me bereft, in agony and sleeplessness.

20. I entrust my submission to God, when travels
Take them from me, from my country and home.

21. How many unknown lands lie between us,
Uncountable distances and cold!

22. O you who visit the lands of Syria, do not
Rub your hands in joy at praising the chosen one overmuch.

23. Convey my affection to the beloved of pilgrims, and do not
Neglect the pledge of patience and fortitude.

24. Send him a greeting without end
Like the persistent waves of the abounding sea.

25. And say: no one was created with a status
More noble, none assumed glory without him.

26. What will treat, O sun of prophecy,
One who has faded from ardent longing in anguish?

27. Prevent your tomb, though no cry escapes it,
From one far from its visit, foreign in abode, estranged.

28. Be my ally, though faint of patience, awaiting
A sign from you, O pillar and support of mine.

29. I confess my sins and lapses - no deed
Do I hope will save me, if you do not help.

30. Days of my life wore down my strength and wasted it away -
Bare I stand before tribulations that flow to eternity.

31. My burden grew in strange events
Too heavy for me to complain to anyone.

32. My fate persists in envying me for blessings -
No living thing is free from envy.

33. How many sorrows has time prepared for me,
Despite your gracious care of me in my little means?

34. So accept my humiliation and apology
And strengthen my weakness with abundant grace.

35. Look on me with your merciful eyes
And attend to my state - be gentle and promise.

36. Untie the knots of grief in my heart, O Muhammad,
From anxieties circling my soul, persistently wounding.

37. I hope that when death draws near you will witness me,
So the final breaths may be eased in ascent.

38. And if I am lowered into the grave, be my companion there,
That you may be the sole friend in my isolation.

39. Until the day all are raised, that day to come,
And every soul sees what it has put forth for the morrow,

40. As the truth rules the testifying limbs,
And the fire is stoked for the defiant tyrants.

41. Be then my guide, with your excellent intercession, to the banner
Of praise, in the shade of the Throne brought together.

42. Say: "This one is of us, for what he has done" - reward him
On the path, and "This is our pond" - admit him.

43. And be my companion in the abode of peace, when
We reach the seat of sincerity, neighbor of the Eternal.

44. Have mercy on its composer, Abdullah the bereft,
And those after him of his family - enliven and attend to him.

45. If enemies prepare to attack him,
Make your love a barrier, the strongest rampart against them.

46. If he calls out, then answer, and protect his side
From any gloating rival or vexing foe.

47. For we did not face any hated thing
Except that we sought support in you, our pillar.

48. Nor did we tread any path seeking you
Except we found you lying in wait to help.

49. O my God, shower Muhammad with blessings
As long as birds twitter their varied melodies!

50. Greetings like the rays of the sun, wholesome,
Enveloping the eternal flow of time.

51. Scented with wishes for the Family and Wives, its breeze
And the Companions, from the puffs of musk, every musk-scent.
