1. I bid farewell, for I see not that you will see me,
And I cry my goodbyes between folk of tents.

2. Tomorrow, the caravan parts and leaves me,
Full of sorrow for the separation of loved ones.

3. I see you deny Zainab's love after
My tears have witnessed it in you,

4. And after my heart was fooled and sold
For free, without price. Is there anyone else?

5. If not for the forbidden, perfumed breeze
I would not have stayed lamenting the garden.

6. And by the lightning of tenderness in Zainab's abode,
Why don’t you yearn for the lightning of tenderness?

7. They descended to the meadows from the slopes of Luwa,
So thirst made me crave the meadows.

8. They were welcomed from lost Hira, though
The time of youth was not good for me,

9. And they were my neighbors.
I ransom Hajar the blameworthy,

10. Who copied separation in your book of estrangement.
I honored him, so he disgraced me, protected him,

11. So he lost me, obeyed him, so he disobeyed me.
I wish the one who wrote farewell far from

12. My time, confusing me on the path of my time,
And who takes the soul of humankind before fever,

13. While I see the tents of fever and it sees me,
And to the glorious Ahdal we traveled,

14. Mixing the plain with sorrows,
And descended from my bosom arrows with feathers that

15. The shining moon did not make years ago with faith,
The sword of guidance, Ahmad ibn Muhammad,

16. The flag of care, so display the Quran,
He is in the fertile pilgrimage a verse

17. Of good news, witnessed by both worlds,
And the signs of goodness are in him, for he

18. Is like the sun, not hidden in any place.
Seek no other, for he is the caliph

19. Of the Merciful, and son of the caliphs of the Merciful.
And upon him descended what was never revealed

20. Except to the Man of the Two Gatherings.
O Abu Muhammad, you are the goal of

21. My requests in adversities, my sword and my spear,
And by the light of your face my status and dignity

22. Were raised, and safety from fear after fear of my wishes.
You pictured me as noble, courageous, disciplined, prosperous, faithful,

23. Created me with honor, generosity, kingdom, moonlight, and humanity.
You combined your nature with generosity and loyalty,

24. Embodying all goodness and benevolence.
Nobility has reached its pinnacle,

25. Generosity unparalleled by any servant.
From a prophetic, Alawite palm tree,

26. Whose origin is Fatimah and Hasan.
The honorable Ahdal are its branches

27. And fruits of that lofty, brilliant palm.
If not for the high-born Ahdal,

28. The light of the universe's jewels would not shine.
How can his praise be attained? Never!

29. By God, not even the Jew reached it.
He is the purest of the Hashimites,

30. Unique in his time and every time.
His father is Haydara and his grandfather Ahmad,

31. His brother is Abdul Qadir Al-Jilani.
He became a shrine in Sihām, in a plot

32. That jested with the secret of the edifice.
Witnesses saw and his light shone,

33. And his ranks rose above the celestial spheres.
Through him the Imam, son of the Imams, he

34. Is to people like a flower in the garden.
His ancestors’ generosity became like the traits

35. Of the pillars among the great.
His children filled to the brim generosity’s seas

36. And houses of intimacy and sweet gatherings.
What will you deal, O Shahab Al-Din, with

37. He who foolishly sold profit for loss?
Poverty, insolvency, a treacherous fate,

38. Worries of dependents and cramped dwelling,
And significant debt none can bear,

39. Not even mountains of solid mass.
And enviers and gloaters who cut

40. My lineage and sold me in a market of disgrace.
Do you, O son of Ahdal, have sympathy for me,

41. To enrich my poverty and set right my affairs?
And accept me despite my stumbling, and comfort me

42. With generosity from my worries and sorrows?
For the right of the One whose face the faces turn to,

43. The Everlasting, while all else perishes,
I have no other connection to rely upon,

44. No means to lead my reins.
I heard the mother of children promise

45. And threaten what was in my reckoning-
I endured Rajab and Sha’ban in their course

46. With patience, though patience in Ramadan is rare.
So for the sake of your due right, show me kindness

47. And help me with favors, compassion and tenderness.
For I sought you out, not because of need,

48. But as one seeking refuge, safe from the tyranny of my time.
So save me, by your stature, from the worries of poverty,

49. In this life, and from the fires in the next.
And may you remain, O moon of perfection, generous

50. And comfortable with spirit and basil.
The breeze did not blow, nor did

51. Writhing branches weep upon the branches,
Saying, “O Glorious, O Holy,

52. O Lord, O Helper, O Benevolent.”
I seek refuge only in You from the adversity of my time,
