1. Let me cry after an extinguished neighbor
And covenants of a period in the rest of my life

2. And lament the traces of separation with agony
And find no comfort after them renewed

3. And why should I not cry when they decided the intent
The morning we parted from Mughayr and Manjad

4. They did not bid me farewell the day they left
Nor provided me a look of the well-provisioned

5. Nor had mercy on a heart hovering over ardour
Nor kept the covenant of a confirmed pact

6. If only pure love had brought comfort
To the tear of unconfined passion

7. And if only the time of union had slackened its reins
My hopes would reach the goal of my purpose

8. My friends from the quarter of Ibn Khuwailid, most fortunate
You two, your company in life is not fortunate

9. Do not ask me of a lost heart
My heart is in the widespread expanses

10. And oh nurse in the caves, caves of Tihama
Prepare my malady in them and straighten my distortion

11. And let the eyes of the eye steal the forbidden
And shoot the pillar of patience in every baptistery

12. For the vision has appeared to me under the curtains
Melting with the light of beauty my heart and liver

13. When lovers descend in its plains
They see wonders from its ascending light

14. Around it are so many crazed with love
And before it are prostrations and bows

15. May God revive the days that passed in Suwaiqah
And the bliss of living in soft sands

16. They say how much you recount and remember ardour
And recite poems from every poet

17. I said to them, leave me be, for I
Roam with the judgement of passion and exceed

18. Neither lightning of Abraq Rama enticed me
Nor melodies from a warbling pigeon

19. Nor the breeze scattering pearls
From the dew over a narcissus flower

20. Rather, the joyous face by which
The light of truth shone in every scene enticed me

21. May God return to us of His blessings
And make us drink from His goodness the best drink

22. For with his face he entices the clouds
And opens in his mysteries every latch

23. If your eyes see the delight of his face
They see your full moons in the most fortunate abodes

24. And if your right hand kisses his right hand then adhere
To a pillar other than the black pillar of the house

25. He has an agreeable way and inner state
Lit with the light of the kindled Sunnah

26. With him the world shone out its darkness
And the path of righteousness from the best guide appeared

27. He rose with the emblems of the righteous and their guidance
And revived the minaret of religion after Muhammad

28. When we mention the most generous
He is the pouring spring and the high sand dune

29. And however much we praise the righteous, his praise
With it good mention concludes and begins

30. For God, what succor for every hopeful
And sword over the enemies never sheathed

31. And fortress of honor taking refuge in his side
And drinking from his gifts the sparkling cup

32. So my master, time is hostile to me
While you are the light people take guidance from

33. Your shade stretches over every Muslim
Your grace scattered to every monotheist

34. But I complain to you of afflictions
My patience foils them and my composure ends them

35. Neither does my heart settle, nor my tears cease
Nor the joy of my living, drinking, and resting place

36. While in a house, despite my brothers and loved ones
Dwelling in a night of perpetual worries

37. And the jurist Al-Mu'ajjali's patience has run out
For your rebuke, oh lamp of Ghawr and Unayzah

38. Words from you came to them, O Abu Muhammad
Toppling the foundations, so be just and composed

39. If it was for a sin, your forgiveness is vast
And if there was no sin, then do not accept my envy

40. And You are above protecting the East and West of earth
While neglecting my brothers and wronging my mosque

41. So drape over them your forgiveness' veil and protect them
By your status my Master from every aggressor

42. And stand by me, for I and my cousin and all those
After us hope for the status of your face, my Master

43. And here are for you gems of prose

That lengthens my lifespan and raises my hand

45. And after the prayer of God and then His peace
Upon the best branch from the best rooted tree
