1. The lightnings of the clouds smiled with delight,
And the stars of truth rose in the liver of the sky.

2. The clouds watered the sanctuaries of Hejaz at dawn,
At daybreak and at the first light of dawn, whether bright or gloomy.

3. The doves wept over the sanctuaries cooing,
So I responded to that lamenting cooer.

4. And I remained infatuated with the two holy precincts,
And indeed I was content to live infatuated.

5. O doves of leaves in the soft heat!
Not everyone who grieves yearns for the heat.

6. Is it the highest blame if my tears flowed as blood?
Or if she who captivated me longed for the red camels?

7. The beloved barred me from visiting after
I hoped he would show tenderness and mercy.

8. O companion! Do not be content with long separation
If you have left the caravan of the reproached beloved.

9. Dismount in the two holy precincts white camels,
Among the sand dunes, competing with the arrows.

10. And when the flags of Mecca come near you, or
Its sacred boundaries, sanctify yourself among those who sanctify.

11. And hasten to arrive there, traveling widely,
Among the hills of Marwah and Wadi Muzdalifah.

12. And fulfill what God has enjoined upon you,
Heading firmly towards the Hejaz, with purpose.

13. And when you arrive at the meadows of Muhammad,
Descend there praying and submitting.

14. Meet the bearer of good news and the warner
The enshrouded, the postponed, the preceded.

15. His prophecy existed when Adam was
A figure of water and clay being shaped.

16. And through him the existence of the universe came from nonexistence,
He filled time with kindness and generosity.

17. A moon that souls were attracted with love to him,
As if he dwelt in every heart that harbored.

18. When will I pass by Baqie and Thabir
And gain my eyes' fill of light because of them?

19. And stand in the inviolable precinct of prophecy, reciting
Praise like the arranged flowers of spring.

20. For the final one who erased polytheism, who filled the world
With generosity, kindness, favor and grace.

21. The son of virtuous women, better than all who walked the earth,
And nobler than all who mounted steeds, most generous.

22. Passion inspired me to come to you,
A blazing passion that splits even the sturdiest.

23. The Najdi breeze spreads it with its blowing,
So I spend the nights inflamed, infatuated.

24. I ask that prayers be sent to the prayers upon the one
Upon whom the Lord of Majesty and Peace prayed.

25. Who will allow me to come to Medina as a visitor,
And approach its noble earth and price?

26. The clouds rained generosity upon the precinct of the Prophet Muhammad
Walking around it, chanting together sublimely.

27. And it flowed to the bosoms of fragrant Taybah,
Showing a smile, when its lightnings give joy.

28. The abode whose leaders repented
And attained high ranks through vigilance and abstinence.

29. And sought shelter in the shade of Al-Ajaj, and wielded
Their swords in the battles of formidable prey.

30. With the blessed face whose exhalations
In this abode tell of the Abundant, the Turbulent sea.

31. He brought nobility with intercession and small pools,
And Al-Kawthar the flowing spring from which servants drink.

32. And the victorious in resolve, whose resolve splits
Mountains, and brings down stars.

33. He filled the frontiers with its weapons and tribes,
Like lions, outstripping the fleet, red camels.

34. And he quenched the abodes of polytheism with clouds of warriors,
And swords that reject every opponent.

35. That one shaded with clouds, to whom
The camel prostrated, cooing and writhing.

36. And the gazelle greeted him with better speech than man’s,
And the tree trunk spoke to him though it was inanimate.

37. And the full moon split for his blessings,
And truth testifies before I even speak.

38. May God send prayers upon him as long as
The morning breeze blows or thunder rumbles in the darkness.

39. And upon Abu Bakr, for he surpassed mankind
In merit and believing him - how excellent a Muslim!

40. He supported the Messenger with himself and his money -
Blessed is that, how righteous and merciful!

41. And upon the young man Umar whose jihad
In God settled affairs with his sword, perplexing them.

42. He opened conquests and his openings erased
The markings of misguidance, demolishing and levelling.

43. And upon the martyr of the house, Uthman, whose
Light made even the angels of the sky embarrassed.

44. The one upon whom was revealed "He is mindful
Of God", the one who compiled the decisive Scripture.

45. And upon the father of al-Husayn, Haydar, who
Remained amidst war's confusion, intrepid and unyielding.

46. Hopes flock to him in times of adversity,
And enemies taste him as lethal poison.

47. And upon al-Husayn and his brother Hasan, for they
Were named by their mother and father the Sublime.

48. And the honorable companions, for they are
Meteors when the night of tribulations grows dark.

49. Laughing when faces frown,
Marching forth when the valiant hold back.

50. Clouds of guidance, all of them,
Each meeting the enemy as snarling, branded lions.

51. The wild beasts gained sustenance from the harvest of their swords,
Satiated and well-watered, whether it was flesh or blood.

52. They made their valuables and souls forbidden
To all but God, so that the religion became strong.

53. God reward them - what excellent youths!
None preceded them in that, or came first.

54. The blessings of Ahmad enveloped them,
Who surpassed mankind in eloquence, Arabs and non-Arabs.

55. A moon that travelled through the seven heavens and spoke
To his Lord nightly, returning glorified and magnified.

56. And the honored messengers preceded him in merit
For his favor upon them - he prospered with prayers and sanctity.

57. May God send prayers upon him - how many angels travelled
Ascending through the heavens for him! And how sublime!

58. O master of men and jinn, O our patron
On the Day of Assembly, O guide of servants from blindness!

59. If you stand, O son of the most virtuous, interceding
For the sinful, compassionate and merciful,

60. Then bestow upon Abdullah al-Rahim mercy
For he has transgressed, done wrong, and committed sins.

61. And was unfaithful to you when he visited friends, and did not visit
What he was capable of - no commanded affair is irreversible.

62. But when he saw his stumbles,
Your wish to draw him near became greater to him.

63. So be kind to him, show tenderness toward him, and be
A fortress for him from fearsome sorrows and trials.

64. And intercede with the Creator for him and his companions,
For the Subduer of the unjust has become hellfire.

65. And reward him in both abodes with what will protect him
For he is under your protection and you do not cease to protect your sanctuaries.

66. And reward him, my Master, with every generosity
You wish, and increase him in favors and grace.

67. And upon you, may God send prayers forever, as long as
The lightnings of the clouds smile with delight.
