1. I have found, O my soul, truly what the storyteller related is true
So proceed with your own affairs, I am not the complainer

2. And seek refuge in me from the anguishes of torment, being pleased
And my love has judged upon love to protect you

3. And await chances of days returning
And use patience and beware of ceasing your complaints

4. Perhaps you will die remembering me and die for me
A testimony of truth wherever truth finds you

5. By God, were it not for wishes pulling me
The tether of an old covenant, I would have let you go

6. I forgot for a while the oversights of time
And lived among the departed, your dwelling place

7. The days of Layla staying in the valley of sidr
Remaining intoxicated, its perfume surrounding you

8. And life is green and days are radiant
And the eye of the beloved gazelle watching over you

9. And a glance that brought about my death, though it has no
Doubt, for I am the complainer and the doubter

10. It gave the rest of the spirit that passed from my vigor
O sun of beauty that rose from the constellation of your window

11. And show me for my heart what is in the magic of your eye
Snares spread out for me and traps

12. And between the foot of the hill, so the valley leads
To the house of the Prince, its bulls are vigorous

13. The enchanting eyes cast the love of hearts
Bringing to life and destruction with glances

14. Take your right from your eyes a sudden death for me
For my demise is in your eyes, your eyes

15. And help me attain the kiss, seizing the chance
For nothing is sweeter than your kiss, nothing more delicious

16. How many tokens of longing for you have passed
That I entrusted when intending, but they were lost

17. The birds of the flock graze in the meadow, and none
Yearns but by your remembrance

18. I described your attributes for the lovers and the
Lights of your beauty shone from the lights of your beauty

19. Behind the veil, a beauty from you pervaded
A wonderful, subtle beauty in your shyness

20. And beneath your veil, a secret in its ascending
A light like the radiance of sunlight covered you

21. And a garden from the gardens of eternity you have filled
With beauty, its corners filled by you

22. And a soul from Paradise smells
Amongst the throng, the fragrance of your scent diffusing

23. And in the scenes, clear signs
Its indications proclaim your virtue

24. What fills the eye with beauty upon beauty
And expands the chest but the beauty of seeing you?

25. How much have I reckoned the innocent love
That cannot be roused but by meeting you

26. My Lord brings you life every moment
With every blink, brings you life, brings you life

27. And how much perfume blows toward the south, blended
No soul feels good but by your moment of arrival

28. And generosity blows toward the south, blended
Encouraged by presses of your hands

29. Where the prophecy, its canopy is pitched
And truth blossoms with the loftiness of your mark

30. And where from the backs of all regions
With the sword anyone with enmity and traps

31. Muhammad, master of masters, from Mudar
Defender of sanctity, a pure, fruitful branch

32. The guidance of God in Syria and in Yemen
And God's chosen ones from messengers and angels

33. Well-mannered Qurashi by origin, nobler than
Ham and Shem and than Romans and Turks

34. Embodiment of beauty, kindness and generosity
Bountiful, overflowed, knew no withholding

35. His tongue is revelation and the miracle of descent
Makes you forget the babble of Copt and Anatolian

36. Bestower of rights to supporters and severer of
Transgressors, opponents, a decisive slayer

37. Open-faced to all visitors and in battle
The death of the bold warrior with spears

38. Seething under the shadows of spears, filled
With courage, and cheerful when fate scowls

39. Firm in knowledge and beautiful clemency, so
Hopeful, with no exposure for one in hiding

40. Sublime, filled with munificence and compassion
From the blood of tyrants, a prodigal shedder

41. Enriched and satisfied his nation
With an attack he ignited in every battle

42. And war rose upon a leg through him and soared
When he took revenge on every traitor

43. So they fled but he reached them victorious
Never to recover from loss and attainment

44. A vengeance that left no hands for the pagans
Raised up, as not all who wish for open war, prevail

45. My master, O Messenger of God, my hope
O comfort of the soul from woe and grief

46. Called you from the land of Ghur, saying
Abdul Rahim, the sinful, fearful, crying one

47. I placed them in you after, though I have none but
Your strong rope to cling to, your handle

48. For I was not a follower of the path of guidance
Nor withdrawing from my missteps

49. Nor refusing ignorance and disobedience
Nor with the asceticism of the most devout of devotees

50. So make my reward for them every honor
Not pounds and measures

51. And clothe me in the emblem of God's eternal
Prayer, extended, beyond eras and orbits
