1. Tears of longing flowed between the hills, so wonder not at my weeping,
Leave my heart to pine away in their absence,

2. Loving what it sees of people and places,
Memories of encampments in the valley never cease

3. To stir my heart and awaken raging passion anew,
For love is but anguish and yearning

4. That melts me while the one I love remains indifferent,
And passion makes the youth its slave, disrobing him of modesty.

5. Perhaps a breeze from Najd's hills will blow my way
With scent of chamomile and rain-laden clouds,

6. Reviving my downcast soul - mayhap it will dispel
My sorrow, stirring emotions long buried.

7. By Allah, who ordained pilgrimage to His House
For riders and walkers and all who dwell in tents,

8. Who circumambulate in devotion, hastening in veneration,
Repeating prayers at Safa and Marwah,

9. I will entreat you for affection with my anguished heart
Or with the tears of my eyes that ever remember.

10. Still the winds spread my unremitting love
Once hidden in the recesses of my soul;

11. Tall as a lance's shadow I left behind
And greeted a wakeful night full of care.

12. Lightning flashes from Mount Ghuwayr in Tihama,
And more light engulfs the towering heights of Najd,

13. As my eyes behold the radiant light of His glory,
Before the Qiblah, banishing all darkness.

14. Rays emanating from the Prophet's tomb, heralding
Good tidings, radiating blessings from his light.

15. He is the Mercy sent down to mankind - blessed indeed!
Noble natured, best of those present and absent!

16. Did not the moon split at his gesture, a miracle for him,
While clouds shaded the Hawthorn tree where he took rest?

17. The prostration of the trees and beasts in awe of him,
The trunk that wept, missing his pulpit's touch,

18. Pebbles glorifying God as he lifted them in his palm,
And water gushing on the day of the Confederate armies.

19. The foreleg of lamb informing him of its poisoning
By the petty deeds of the ignoble Jews.

20. The day he called upon trees to come towards him without need -
They raced towards the best of creation with zeal.

21. He satiated his whole army at the trench
With a sa'a of barley that was with Jabir.

22. He shot an arrow into a ripe fruit unerringly
Though no horseman could attest to this feat.

23. The Prophet's night journey from Mecca's heart
To the Farthest Mosque in the blink of an eye,

24. Borne by angels who gathered to accompany him
To the Highest Assembly by the Powerful's decree.

25. Jibril escorted him on that journey of bliss
As celestial beings proclaimed him their guide.

26. He was immersed in Light until he reached
A station where no foot had ever trod,

27. When Allah beckoned him to draw even nearer -
He traversed oceans of Light with joy and awe,

28. Witnessing realms seen by none but him,
Honored by the Singular with privileges beyond count.

29. A wilderness of Light seen only by his gaze
As he walked firmly guided by his Creator.

30. When he approached within but two bow-lengths
The Merciful adorned him with the crown of glory.

31. He was offered a cup of love from His Throne,
A drink of proximity no tongue can describe.

32. Above all prophets he was granted lofty rank,
Saved from comparisons with any being.

33. He was appointed as intercessor for sinners,
With special qualities none can enumerate.

34. The Standard of Praise and the Pool of abundance await,
Where the thirsty will come to drink from flowing rivers.

35. To you I come seeking intercession for sinners,
With these poor verses adorned with gems.

36. I have come to you, O Sun of Guidance, beseeching
Intercession for my brother in God, Husawri.

37. Burdened by sins, he transgressed your commands, my Master -
Be a protector shielding him from all tribulations.

38. Deal with him kindly, befriend him, give your support,
Remove the woes of both worlds with your gentle grace.

39. Complete your blessings upon kin and friends,
Neighbors, elders, migrants and settled folk.

40. May abundant peace and salutations be upon you
Whenever the morning breeze blows or thunder rolls!

41. Prayers that specifically include you, then encompass
Your companions and Family - the best of people.
