2. And my hopes have settled in the best of dwellings,
With the best of those to whom the literati resort.

3. I came to the highest ranked in self and position,
And I frequented a quarter while the times are arid.

4. A lord, secret of God's oneness, and his sword,
Through him life is sweet, and the times wholesome.

5. He is the overflowing Kawthar among the joyous family,
A rain cloud calling to the dew, which responds.

6. A cloud shading all people, seeking rain,
With a share for all who hope in it.

7. Peace be upon you - I came visiting you,
And my affair, when the detractors were wondrous.

8. I hope your grace - and grace is plentiful -
And I anticipate your gifts soon and near.
