1. My hope is in Your favor, O my Master
When neither family nor wealth can help

2. I entrust to You, knowing Your grace toward me
Is beyond all others should they try

3. So pardon my adversaries and fulfill, O my hope
My debts for the rights of mankind are burdens

4. Your pardon has not wearied of me, You sealed
My words and deeds with martyrdom

5. Be my defender when they close my eyes and leave
Weeping, hearing all they have said

6. Bestow on my soul delight and joy when
The throes of death are fearsome horrors

7. And the Angel of Death comes for me, entrusted with me
And with souls, for lifespans have terms

8. Extract my soul, angels of purification
Bearing it to Your hoped-for grace

9. They came to You, O Lord, with it
Gabriel and Michael to the Holy Court

10. Then it inclined nearby toward a place for washing
Where the washed and the washer hope for You

11. I and my like have none but Your generosity
O Peerless and Matchless One

12. Today I lie before You helpless
Preoccupied with myself over others

13. So endow me, O Forgiving One, with Your pardon
Leaving no atom's weight of sins

14. If I go down to the devastated abode with
No father, uncle or aunt there

15. And my movements start again though still
No enemy opposes me or wealth remains

16. Inspire me, O my Creator, to remember the answer
For in that station are questions and inquiries

17. There neither hoped-for grace nor availing work
Nor trick to help me prevail

18. Open Paradise's gate of pleasure to my soul
To guide it to the gardens it seeks

19. Show kindness to my children and their mothers
As befits my creation, lands and children

20. When the dead are spread out and the creatures
Tremble at each other's state

21. And the soul returns to the frail body though
Its parts and limbs are scattered

22. Along the Bridge to the Pond of Muhammad's son
To drink from it a draught, for it is the chain

23. O Vast in Grace! My excuse is presented
If summarizing suffices over details

24. So be generous to me and do not deprive me
Of pardon for my sin, for that is Your wont of favors

25. And say, "It suffices you, O servant of the Merciful, the harm
Of the two abodes, so descend secure from neglect"

26. And spare me pride, miserliness, and pursuing
My desires, for that is perdition

27. And promise me a light from You by which I will rejoice
My sight, hearing and mind will be purified

28. And have mercy on the Prophet, my forebears and my companions
Encompassing them, O my God, with success

29. What can I say, when every disobedience is from me
While from You, my Master, are clemency and respite

30. Who am I, what is my worth or my deeds
On a day when deeds are placed on the Scale?

31. Can a mortal endure eternal hellfire
Whose origin is from despised clay?

32. Or how can a servant despair tomorrow of the spirit of God
Having worn the cloak of Islam?

33. You, You are my God, my reliance
In every state when my state changes

34. Then blessings upon the Chosen One from Mudar
After whom no peer shone in valor

35. Indeed, the Seal of God's Messengers
And his Companions, Family and Companions
