1. She yearns for love, so we excite her longing,
And urge her towards the beloved, so she ascends

2. The wanderer reminds her of a good neighbor,
So she is seized by lasting, settled longing

3. And if she hears the cooing of a dove, she remembers
The markets where doves roost chirping at night

4. And if she lights a fire in a settled place,
The fire within her is kindled and ignited

5. So do not, my friends, speak to her of ardour
Or a neighbor, even if eloquent and helpful

6. But mention to her only Hejaz and Ahmad
For her goal is only Hejaz and Ahmad

7. She set out and from towards Badr she saw
The vanguards of the full moon rising up

8. The twisting valleys of parting excited her
When a Hejazi breeze blew, settling and stirring

9. Perhaps the wind will convey my greetings
To the one whose place is to the right of the Throne

10. And he may convey my repeated greetings
For the best greetings are repeated peace

11. A prophet of generosity, glory and honor
Greatness, strength, firmness and darkness dispelled

12. Happy is that full moon, so noble is his worth
Given such strengthening that will never run out

13. His name was derived from some letters of His name
So the Lord of the Throne is Praised and this is Muhammad

14. He is called alongside the names of angels and the Most High
For he is the highest, purest and most glorious

15. And he is mentioned in the declarations alongside his Lord
And if the call to prayer says "I bear witness, I bear witness"

16. He surpasses angels and messengers in rank
For he is the master of angels and messengers

17. None but him scales the heights of superiority
Nor beneath the Throne does any but Allah prostrate

18. A prophet who came while people were in ignorance
Worshipping idols spread over the land

19. He called to monotheism with the sword
To Allah, for he is the Decisive, the Unifier

20. He calmed the raging sea of polytheism
When its waves foamed and overflowed against its people

21. And he left the quarter of the polytheists
Condemning what they disobeyed and rebelled against

22. Birds roam and return to their nests
While his swords in them flash and are sheathed

23. His signs are eloquent miracles
And his banners of victory and triumph are tied

24. For that is the light of God in every direction
The polished, sharpened, cutting sword

25. His war booty is pilgrimage and Mecca is his Qibla
Dirt is pure and the land is a mosque for him

26. And how many miracles and special qualities he has
Witnessed above the heavens in his station

27. I boasted of the Messenger of God's glories
And I praised God, improvising poetry

28. And I said, perhaps God will erase my sins through him
And Ibn Masood the negligent may find bliss

29. We hope for you in both abodes, O guide to righteousness
For you are a guide and mentor in both abodes

30. Please overlook our stumbles, though we take pride in prophets
For you are the most clement and generous of people

31. We do not hope for a master other than you, knowing
That you exist, while others are lost

32. The letters came to you, though jumbled
They seemed like random letters, yet a precious pearl

33. Their speaker is Abdurraheem son of Ahmad
May he through praising you find praise

34. So fulfill my hopes in you, O ultimate wish
And say "You will dwell forever in the Gardens"

35. And do not dismiss the poor man, despite his good opinion
Far be it from you to disappoint one who hopes

36. How can one who sins fear his sin
When your forgiveness, my Master, awaits sins

37. So permit me to visit, though I walk in shackles of sin
My sins have kept me away, and my staying has been prolonged

38. Death is not hoped for, nor is life blissful
So woe is me, O best of those who walked the earth

39. If I have no promised time between me and you
Peace be upon you eternally, with blessed

40. And ever-renewed hand, for all time
