6. The nomad is roused in the thick of the desert by its chant,
Or a ray from the sun or a whisper from the shooting stars.

٦. وَسْنَى بِأخْبِيَةِ الصَّحْرَاءِ يُوقِظهَا
وَحْيٌ مِنَ الشَّمْسِ أَوْ همْسٌ مِنَ الشهبِ

7. With it the solid mountains are challenged if they are stubborn,
So they feel no brilliance and no stubbornness.

٧. تُحْدَى بِهَا اليَعْمَلاَتُ الكُومُ إِنْ لَغِبَتْ
فَلاَ تُحِسُّ بِإِنْضَاءٍ وَلاَ لَغَبِ

8. The daughters of the tribe are drawn to it fascinated,
And love sprouts between wonder and wonder.

٨. تَهْتَزُّ فَوْقَ بِحَارِ الآلِ رَاقِصَةً
وَالنَّصْبُ لِلنيبِ يَجْلُو كُرْبَةَ النَّصَبِ

9. When they peer out from behind their veils they see it as a guard,
So their yearning for it is endless.

٩. لَمْ تَعْرِف السَّوْطَ إِلاَّ صَوْتَ مُرْتَجِزٍ
كَأنَّ في فيهِ مِزْماراً مِنَ القَصَبِ

10. Each girl sees it in the full moon, the sword, the darkness, and the clouds,
It is the adornment of nothingness when it occupies its mind,

١٠. تُصْغِي إِلَى صَوْتِهِ الأَطْيَارُ صَامِتَةً
إِذَا تَردَّدَ بَيْنَ القُورِ وَالهِضَبِ

11. Or when its devil shakes the strings of its speech,
So beware of the coming calamities and the pitfalls of passions.

١١. كَأنَّهُ وَظَلاَمُ اللَّيْل يَكْنٌفُهُ
غُثَاءَةٌ قُذِفَتْ في مَائِجٍ لَجِبِ

12. It has never touched paper or pen,
Yet its opinion outweighs papers and books.

١٢. قَدْ خَالَطَ الوَحْشَ حَتَّى مَا يُرَوّعُهَا
إِذَا تَعَرَّضَ لَمْ تَنْفِرْ وَلَمْ تَثِبِ

13. It flies to war briskly without armor
When war is raging armor is of no use.

١٣. يَرْنُو بِعَيْنٍ عَلَى الظَّلْمَاءِ صَادِقَةٍ
كَأَعْيُنِ النَّسْرِ أَنّى صُوّبَتْ تُصِبِ

14. If a scream calls it, that is its call,
And if the causes of fear call it, it does not respond.

١٤. هُوَ الْحَيَاةُ بِقَفْرٍ لا حَياةَ بِهش
كالمَاءِ في الصّخْرِ أَوْ كالمَاءِ في الْحَطَبِ

15. The beautiful neighbor does not make it lower its gaze,
As if its eyelids are fixed to the peak of a tent.

١٥. يَبِيتُ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ في مَنْزِلٍ خَضِلٍ
وَمِنْ شَبَا بِيضِهِ في مَعْقلٍ أَشِبِ

16. It is an island that is barren in every direction,
Yet fertile in the realms of manners and literature.

١٦. يَهْتَزُّ للجُودِ والمَشْتَاةُ بَاخِلَةٌ
وَالقُرُّ يَعْقِدُ رَأْسَ الكلْبِ بالذّنَبِ

17. Barrenness in which dreams grow lush,
For even rocks can crack and reveal gold.

١٧. تهْفُو إِلَيْهِ بَنَاتُ الْحَيّ مُعْجَبَةً
وَالْحُبُّ يَنْبُتُ بَيْنَ العُجْبِ وَالعَجَبِ

18. Every garden in the land wishes its flowers
Could give it a kiss from its soil.

١٨. إِذَا تَنَقَّبْنَ إِذْ يَلْقَيْنهُ خَفَراً
فَشَوقُهُنَّ إِليْهِ غَيْرُ مُنْتقِبِ

19. And pearls would tremble if they could be
Strung into a poem or prose from his speeches.

١٩. تَرَاهُ كُلُّ فَتَاةٍ حِينَ تَفْقِدُهُ
في البَدْرِ والسَّيْفِ والضِّرغَامِ وَالسُّحُبِ

20. O neighbor of the sublime sanctuary, its resident
Has watered the ancient pacts, every pouring cloud.

٢٠. زَيْنُ الفِنَاءِ إِذَا مَا حَلَّ حَبْوَتَهُ
لِلْقَوْلِ لَبَّاهُ مِنْهُ كُلُّ مُنْتَخَبِ

21. My ties with you have strengthened bonds,
For they are ties of the Qur'an and ancestry.

٢١. أَوْ هَزَّ شَيْطَانُهُ أَوتَارَ مَنْطِقِهِ
فَاخْشَ الأَتِيَّ وَحَاذِرْ صَوْلَةَ العُبُبِ

22. I see your ignorance with the eye of my imagination,
And imagination has the eye of the roaming scout.

٢٢. مَامَسَّ بِالكَفِّ أَوْرَاقاً وَلاَ قَلَماً
وَرَأْيُهُ زِنَةُ الأَوْرَاقِ وَالكُتُبِ

23. I envision the crowds gathered for consultation,
Yet I hear no nonsense nor clamor.

٢٣. يَطِيرُ لِلحَرْبِ خِفّاً غَيْرَ مُدَّرِعٍ
في شِدَّةِ البَأْسِ مَا يُغْنِي عَنِ اليَلَب

24. Each lad wrapped in his cloak, wearing it,
Speaking off the cuff, avoiding estrangement.

٢٤. إذَا دَعَاهُ صَرِيخٌ كَانَ دَعْوَتَهُ
وَإنْ دَعَتْهُ دَوَاعِي الذُّعْرِ لَمْ يُجِبِ

25. I glimpse the fire that is lit in the dark,
For the traveler by night, the lost, and the weary.

٢٥. لاَ تَرْهَبُ الْجَارَةُ الْحَسْنَاءُ نَظْرتَهُ
كَأَنَّ أَجْفَانَهُ شُدَّتْ إِلَى طَنُبِ

26. A fire, but it is imagined as hope,
When hopes are dashed it does not go out.

٢٦. جَزِيرَةٌ أَجْدَبَتْ فِ كُلِّ نَاحِيَةٍ
وَأَخْصَبَتْ في نَوَاحِي الخُلْقِ والأَدَبِ

27. The symbol of life and generosity it always tosses
Sparks into the air above the hills.

٢٧. جَدْبٌ بِهِ تَنْبُتُ الأَحْلاَمُ زَاكِيَةً
إِنَّ الحِجَارَةَ قَدْ تَنْشَقُّ عَنْ ذَهَبِ

28. Arwa stokes its embers whenever it calms down,
Throwing large logs onto its coals.

٢٨. تَوَدُّ كُلُّ ريَاضِ الأَرْضِ لَوْ مُنِحَتْ
أَزْهَارُهَا قُبْلَةً مِنْ خَدِّهَا التَّرِبِ

29. I see the people on the day of the raid assembled
For death, conquest, or defeat.

٢٩. وَتَرْتَجِي الغِيدُ لَوْ كَانَتْ لآلِئُهَا
نَظْماً مِنَ الشِّعْرِ أَوْ نَثْراً مِنَ الْخُطَبِ

30. They return evil for evil when it suddenly hits them,
While their banner flutters over them.

٣٠. يَا جِيرَةَ الْحَرَمِ المَزْهُوِّ سَاكِنُهُ
سقَى العُهُودَ الْخَوالِي كُلُّ مُنْسَكِبِ

31. I attend the poets whose tongues are swords,
Wielders of eloquence, fierce and sharp.

٣١. لِي بيْنَكُمْ صِلَةٌ عَزَّتْ أوَاصِرُهَا
لأَنَّهَا صِلَةُ القُرآنِ وَالنَّسَبِ

32. Abu Basir whose tone, if it were
Made into arrows, would be the sharpest arrows.

٣٢. أرى بعَيْنِ خَيالي جاهِليَّتكُمْ
ولِلتَّخيُّلِ عَيْنُ القَائِفِ الدَّربِ

33. When he chooses rhymes and shoots them,
They rotate with the orbiting celestial pole.

٣٣. وَأَشْهَدُ الْحَشْدَ لِلشُّورَى قَدِ اجْتَمعُوا
وَلَسْتُ أَسْمَعُ مِنْ لَغْوٍ وَلاَ صَخَبِ

34. At times I close my eyes then open them
To the glory of the brilliant light of truth.

٣٤. مِنْ كُلِّ مُكْتَهِلٍ بالبُرْدِ مُشْتَمِلٍ
لِلقَوْلِ مُرْتَجِلٍ لِلهُجْرِ مُجْتَنِبِ

35. A light from God which dazzled the people with its radiance,
And the light of God cannot be veiled.

٣٥. وَأَلْمَحُ النَّارَ في الظَّلْمَاءِ قَدْ نُصِبَتْ
لِطَارِقِ اللَّيْلِ وَالْحَيْرَانِ والسَّغبِ

36. The articulate chapters of the Qur'an spoke
Silencing the clamor of spears and staves.

٣٦. نَارٌ وَلَكِنَّها قَدْ صُوِّرَتْ أَمَلاً
بَرْداً إِذَا خَابَتِ الآمَالُ لَمْ يَخِبِ

37. And the best of Quraish stood up, the son of its chieftains
Calling to God with determination and dedication.

٣٧. رَمْزُ الْحَيَاةِ وَرَمْزُ الْجُودِ مَا فَتِئَتْ
فَوْقَ الثَّنِيَّاتِ تَرْمِي الجَوَّ باللَّهَبِ

38. With eloquence, Hāshimī in its style, if it were
Made into lineages they would not fray or waste away.

٣٨. يَشُبُّهَا أرْيحي كُلَّمَا هَدَأَتْ
أَلْقَى عَلَى جَمْرِهَا جَزْلاً مِنَ الحَطَبِ

39. The soul of time is pleased with it and rejoices,
Eras have passed while it remains pleased.

٣٩. وَأُبْصِرُ القَوْمَ يَوْمَ الرَّوْعِ قَدْ حُشِدُوا
لِلْمَوتِ يَجْتَاحُ أَوْ لِلنَّصْرِ وَالغَلَبِ

40. The foundations shook, the forts trembled,
At its magnificence, the white forts in the burial grounds.

٤٠. يَرْمُونَ بِالشَّرِّ شَراً حِينَ يفْجَؤُهُمْ
وَرَايُهُمْ فَوْقَهُمْ خَفَّاقَةُ العَذَبِ

41. The daughter of ‘Adnan became, due to it,
Lost, dragging the train of her gown.

٤١. وَأَحْضُرُ الشُّعَرَاءَ اللُّسْنَ قدْ وَقَفُوا
وَلِلْبَيانِ فِعَالُ الصَّارِمِ الذَّرِبِ

42. She won a sturdy pillar, unshakable,
Of rhetoric and a rope that does not waver.

٤٢. أَبُو بَصيرٍ لَهُ نَبْرٌ لَوْ اتُّخِذَتْ
مِنْهُ السِّهَامُ لَكَانَتْ أَسْهُمَ النُّوَبِ

43. She has not strayed from the protection of Islam
On smooth ground, and from its glory in a fertile land.

٤٣. إِذَا رَمَاهَا كمَا يَخْتَارُ قَافِيَةً
دَارتْ مَعَ الفَلَكِ الدَّوَّارِ في قُطُبِ

44. Until the nights cast her in their scrolls,
And her authority came crashing down.

٤٤. وَأُغْمِضُ العَيْنَ حِيناً ثُمَّ أَفْتَحُهَا
عَلَى جَلاَلٍ بِنُورِ الْحَقِّ مُؤتَشِبِ

45. The foolish foreign woman rampaged
Against the daughter of the desert in an army of rabble

٤٥. نُورٌ مِنَ اللّهِ هَالَ القَوْمَ سَاطِعُهُ
وَلَيْسَ يُحْجَبُ نُورُ اللّهِ بِالْحُجُبِ

46. Led by every ignorant kinsman of a donkey,
His hands stained with the blood of Arabs, red.

٤٦. تَكَلَّمَتْ سُوَرُ القُرْآنِ مُفْصِحَةً
فَأَسْكَتَتْ صَخَبَ الأَرْمَاحِ والقُضُبِ

47. They left no buildings standing but destroyed ones,
No group but scattered groups.

٤٧. وَقَامَ خَيْرُ قُرَيْشٍ وَابْنُ سَادَتِهَا
يَدْعُو إِلَى اللّهِ في عَزْمٍ وفي دَأبِ

48. As if ‘Adnan never filled the cosmic horizons
From east to west with his wonders.

٤٨. بِمَنْطِقٍ هَاشمِيِّ الوَشْي لَوْ نُسِجَتْ
مِنْهُ الأَصَائِلُ لَمْ تَنْصُلْ وَلَمْ تغِبِ

49. A raging flood came and took the best treasures of the land,
And the eloquent tongue was lost to oblivion.

٤٩. طَابَتْ بِهِ أَنْفُسُ الأيَّامِ وَابْتَهَجتْ
ومَرَّ دَهْرٌ وَدَهْرٌ وَهي لَمْ تَطِبِ

50. Were it not for the heart of Abu Bakr, it would not
Have found its way back to life, the daughter of the nomads.

٥٠. وَهُزَّتِ الرَّاسِيَاتُ الشمُّ وَارْتَعَدَتْ
لِهَوْلِهِ البَاتِرَاتُ البِيضُ في القُرُبِ

51. He protected it with care unlike any other,
And what he forbade was forbidden to the plunderers.

٥١. وَأَصْبَحَتْ بِنْتُ عَدْنَانٍ بِنَفْحَتِهِ
تِيهاً تُجَرِّرُ مِن أَذْيالِهَا القُشُبِ

52. He restored its much frequented abode with his zeal,
And embraced it with kind and affectionate care.

٥٢. فَازَتْ برُكْنٍ شَديدٍ غَيْرِ مُنْصَدِعٍ
مِن البَيَانِ وَحَبْلٍ غَيْرِ مُضْطَرِبِ

53. O party of goodness for the eloquent tongue and its supporters!
Greetings to you all, O best of allies!

٥٣. وَلَمْ تَزَلْ مِنْ حِمى الإِسْلاَمِ في كَنَفٍ
سَهْلٍ وَمْن عِزِّه في مَنْزِلٍ خَصِب

54. Come! Time is fleeting, it has an appointed term,
Though I do not claim time is made of gold.

٥٤. حَتَّى رَمَتْهَا اللَّيَالي في فَرَائدها
وَخَرَّ سُلْطَانُهَا يَنْهَارُ مِنْ صَبَبِ

55. Man's life in this world is but his stay in it,
A stay like a specter, flowers, and seeds.

٥٥. وَعَاثَت الْعُجْمَةُ الْحَمْقَاءُ ثَائِرَةً
عَلَى ابْنَةِ البِيدِ في جَيْشٍ مِنَ الرَّهَبِ

56. Time hastens on, days rush ahead,
While we only understand laziness and stupidity.

٥٦. يَقُودُهُ كُلُّ وَلاَّغٍ أَخِي إِحَنٍ
مُضَمَّخٍ بِدِمَاءِ العُرْبِ مُخْتَضِبِ

57. Novelties are many, they block the sun,
Without gaining the fame of a name or title.

٥٧. لَمْ يُبْقِ فِيهَا بِنَاءً غَيْرَ مُنْتقِضٍ
مِنَ الفَصِيحِ وَشَمْلاً غَيْرَ مُنْقضَبِ

58. Translations wage overt war, impregnating
The eloquent language - so alas for war!

٥٨. كَأَنَّ عَدْنَانَ لَمْ تَملأْ بَدَائِعُهُ
مَسامِعَ الكَوْنِ مِنْ نَاءٍ وَمُقْتَرِبِ

59. We pick a word from a foreign land modifying it,
While its equivalents in our own are countless.

٥٩. مَضَتْ بِخَيْرِ كُنوزِ الأَرْضِ جَائِحةٌ
وَغَابَت اللُّغَةُ الفُصْحَى مَعَ الغَيَبِ

60. Like the mirage of water in the desert when
A fancied image from a cloud appears deceptively.

٦٠. لَوْلا فُؤَادٌ أَبُو الفَارُوقِ مَا وجَدَتْ
إِلَى الْحَيَاةِ ابنَةُ الأَعْرَابِ مِنْ سَبَبِ

61. He who does not differentiate between the spring and the dusty place
Has wronged the daughter of glorious Quraish then fought against her

٦١. أعَزَّ مِنْهَا حِمىً رِيعَتْ كَرَائِمُهُ
وَكَانَ مَمْنُوعُهُ نَهْباً لمُنْتهِبِ

62. With an ignorant, raving campaign,
We abandon the generous, eloquent Arabic expression

٦٢. وَرَدَّ بِالمَجْمَعِ المَعْمُورِ غُرْيَتَهَا
وَحَاطَها بِكَرِيمِ العَطْفِ والْحَدَبِ

63. For an imported exotic one.
Yet in dictionaries there is endless treasure

٦٣. يَا عُصْبَةَ الَخَيْرِ لِلْفُصْحَى وَشِيعَتِها
حَيَّاكِ صَوْبُ الْحَيَا يَا خِيرَةَ العُصَبِ

64. For one who can distinguish between jewels and pebbles.
How many words we repeat until exhausted,

٦٤. هَلمَّ فَالْوَقْتُ أَنْفَاسٌ لَهَا أَمَدٌ
وَلاَ أقُولُ بأنَّ الوَقْتَ مِنْ ذَهَبِ

65. Gasping from the toil and effort.
While words lie locked in the darkness of gloom,

٦٥. فَإِنَّمَا المَرْءُ فِ الدُّنْيَا إِقَامَتُهُ
إِقَامَةُ الطَّيْفِ وَالأَزْهَارِ وَالْحَبَبِ

66. Never seeing the light of a waiting eye.
As if the two guardians have taken charge of them,

٦٦. الدَّهْرُ يُسرِعُ وَالأَيَّامُ مُعْجِلَةٌ
وَنَحْنُ لَمْ نَدْرِ غَيْرَ الوَخْدِ والْخَببِ

67. Never to return again to this life.
O aged master of Dhad, your memories are immortal.

٦٧. وَالمُحْدَثَاتُ تَسُدُّ الشَّمْسَ كَثْرَتُهَا
وَلَمْ تَفُزْ بِخَيَالِ اسْمٍ وَلاَ لَقَبِ

68. In the annals of time and history.
I am at your service, O King of the Nile and its Maker,

٦٨. وَالتَّرْجَمَاتُ تَشُنُّ الْحَرْبَ لاَقِحَةً
عَلَى الفَصِيح فَيَا لِلْوَيْلِ وَالْحَرَبِ

69. O Guardian of religion, etiquette, and nobility.
This is your plantation, its towering trees

٦٩. نَطيرُ لِلَّفْظِ نَسْتَجْدِيه مِنْ بَلَدٍ
نَاءٍ وَأَمثْالُهُ مِنَّا عَلَى كَثَبِ

70. Sway, kissed by the breeze in splendor and playfulness.
Kingship is yours, by attainment and endowment,

٧٠. كَمُهْرِقِ المَاء في الصَّحْراءِ حِينَ بَدَا
لِعَيْنِهِ بَارِقٌ مِنْ عَارِضٍ كَذِبِ

71. Exalted over all other grants and acquisitions.
You are the captain and operator of this ship,

٧١. أَزْرَى بِبِنْتِ قُرَيْشٍ ثمَّ حَارَبَها
مَنْ لاَ يُفرِّقُ بَيْنَ النَّبْعِ وَالغَرَبِ

72. Fearing no harm from tremors.
You spur on this nation in the arena of competition,

٧٢. وَرَاحَ فِي حَمْلَةٍ رَعْنَاءَ طَائِشَةٍ
يَصُولُ بالْخَائِبَيْن الْجَهْلِ وَالشَّغَبِ

73. Leaving no rival in the dust.
God's Trust is protected in the hands of a King

٧٣. أنْتْرُكُ العَرَبيَّ السَّمْحَ مَنْطِقُهُ
إلَى دَخِيلٍ مِنَ الألْفَاظِ مُغْتَرِبِ

74. Who anticipates God and accounts to God.
It is penetrating vision, like the light of dawn,

٧٤. وَفِي المَعَاجِمِ كَنْزٌ لاَ نَفَادَ لَهُ
لِمَنْ يُمَيِّزُ بَيْنَ الدُّرِّ وَالسُّخُبِ

75. Vanquishing the darkness of night, un-obscured and undimmed.
It is determination like steel, that if it sought

٧٥. كَمْ لَفْظَةٍ جُهِدَتْ مِمَّا نُكرِّرُهَا
حَتَّى لَقَدْ لَهَثتْ مِنْ شِدَّةِ التَّعَبِ

76. To pluck the flowers of the stars, it would attain what it desired.
It has resolutely moved forward to its purpose,

٧٦. وَلَفْظَةٍ سُجِنَتْ في جَوْفِ مُظْلِمَةٍ
لَمْ تَنْظُر الشَّمْسُ مِنْهَا عَيْنَ مُرْتَقِبِ

77. Hastening over the dust of doubt and suspicion.
Look and see if Egypt has ever known

٧٧. كَأنَّمَا قَدْ تَوَلَّى القَارِظَانِ بِهَا
فَلَمْ يَؤُوبَا إِلَى الدَّنْيَا وَلَمْ تَؤُبِ

78. Such sovereignty at its peak, with the strongest pillars.
It possesses vast knowledge and wealth,

٧٨. يَا شِيخَةَ الضَّادِ وَالذِّكْرَى مُخَلِّدَةٌ
هُنَا يُؤَسَّسُ مَا تَبْنُونَ لِلْعَقِبِ

79. Abundant fortune and stature.
The heart of Fuad built Egypt's eternal glory, and secluded it

٧٩. هُنَا تَخُطُّونَ مَجْداً مَا جَرَى قَلَمٌ
بِمِثْلِهِ في مَدَى الأَدْهَارِ وَالْحِقَبِ

80. For his righteous hand does not conceal.
Who will inform the Arabs that Dhad

٨٠. لَبَّيْكَ يَا مَلِكَ الوَادِي وَمُنْشِئَهُ
يَا حَارِسَ الدِّين وَالآدَابِ وَالْحسَبِ

81. Has attained the proximity of Egypt's highest authority?
He restored its glory when its pillars leaned,

٨١. هَذَا غِرَاسُكَ قَدْ مَاسَتْ بَوَاسِقُهُ
تُدَاعِبُ الرِّيحَ في زَهْوٍ وَفي لَعِبِ

82. So close to the greatest of kin and most sublime of pedigrees.
Live for glory until you reach the height of its splendor,

٨٢. المُلْك فِي بَيْتِكمْ كَسْباً وَمَوْهِبَةً
يُزْهَى عَلَى كلِّ مَوْهُوبٍ وَمُكْتَسَبِ

83. And for loftiness, dew, knowledge, and propriety.
And may Farouq live as a shining star in its ascent,

٨٣. سَفِينَةٌ أَنْتَ مُجْرِيهَا وَكَالِئُهَا
مِنَ الزَّعَازِعِ لاَ تَخْشَى أَذَى العَطَبِ

84. Good fortune, pinnacle of aspirations and nobility.

٨٤. وَأُمَّةٌ أنْتَ مَجْرِيهَا وَحَافِزُهَا
في حَلْبَةِ السَّبْقِ لاَ تُبْقي عَلَى القَصَبِ

٨٥. وَدِيعَةُ اللّهِ صِينَتْ في يَدَيْ مَلِكٍ
للّهِ مُرْتَقِب للّهِ مُحْتَسِبِ

٨٦. بَصِيرَةٌ كَضِيَاءِ الصُّبْحِ لَوْ لَطَمَتْ
غَيَاهِبَ اللَّيْلِ لم يُظْلِمْ وَلَمْ يُهَبِ

٨٧. وَعَزْمَةٌ كَحَديدِ النَّصْلِ لَوْ طَلَبَتْ
زُهْرَ الكَواكِبِ نَالَتْ غَايَةَ الطَّلَبِ

٨٨. قَدْ صَمَّمَتْ فَمَضَتْ عَجْلَى لِمقْصِدَهَا
تَحثُو التُّرابَ بِوَجْهِ الشَّكِّ وَالرِّيَبِ

٨٩. فَانْظُرْ تَرى مِصْرَ هَلْ تَلْقَى لَهَا مَثَلاً
في صَوْلَةِ المُلْكِ أَوْفى قُوَّةِ الأُهَبِ

٩٠. فَثَرْوَةٌ مِنْ سَريِّ العِلْمِ وَاسِعَةٌ
وَثَرْوَةٌ مِنْ سريِّ الْجَاهِ وَالنَّشَبِ

٩١. بَنَى فُؤَادُ بِنَاءَ الْخَالدِيِنَ مِصْرَ واحْتَجَبَتْ
فَإِنَّ بِرَّ يَدَيْهِ غَيْرُ مُحْتَجِبِ

٩٢. مَنْ مُبْلِغُ العُرْبِ أَنَّ الضَّادَ قَدْ بَلَغتْ
بِقُرْبِ صَاحِبِ مِصْرٍ أَرْفَعَ الرُّتَبِ

٩٣. أَعَادَ مَجْداً لَهَا مَالَتْ دَعَائِمُهُ
فَيَا لهَا قُرْبَةً مَنْ أَعْظَمِ القُرَبِ

٩٤. وَحَفَّهَا بِسِيَاجٍ مِنْ عِنَايَتِهِ
كَمَا تُحَفُّ جُفُونُ العَيْنِ بالهُدُبِ

٩٥. إِنْ عَقَّهَا أَهْلُ وَادِيها وَجيرَتُها
فَأَنْتَ أَحْنَى عَلَيْهَا مِنْ أَخٍ وَأَبِ

٩٦. رَأَتْ بِرَبْعِكَ عِزَّ المُلْكِ فَانْصَرَفَتْ
عَنْ ذِكر لُبْنَى وَذِكْرَى رَبْعِهَا الْخرِبِ

٩٧. لاَذَتْ بِأَكْبَرِ مِعْوَانٍ لِذِي أمَلٍ
نَاءٍ وَأَشْرَفِ عُنْوَانٍ لِمُنْتَسِبِ

٩٨. عِشْ لِلْكِنَانةِ تَبْلُغْ أَوْجَ عِزَّتِهَا
وَلْلعُلاَ وَالنَّدَى وَالعِلمِ والأدَبِ

٩٩. وَعاشَ فَارُوق نَجْماً في تأَلُّقِهِ
سَعْدُ السُّعودِ وَفِيه مُنْتَهَى الأَرَبِ
