1. The brightness of the clouds' shade shone forth,
And water gushed from the rock of Tanufah.

2. The idols were told that their time
Had passed, and ignorance and the ignorant vanished.

3. So I bowed down only to the One of the Throne's majesty,
And none was elevated except through supplication to Him.

4. The smile of dawn shone from the birth of guidance,
Bringing radiance and blossoms to the earth through it.

5. And with it the desert, once barren,
Was watered by the new religion.

6. The earth vied with the heavens through a star,
And the splendor of the full moon dimmed what the sky contained.

7. Truth and faith in God are its halo,
And in every corner of minds it is open space.

8. It shone in the world, dispelling its darkness,
And blindness around it disappeared.

9. Though it is but words, a clear magic,
Even if the words multiply a thousandfold.

10. Wondrous is the knowledge and wisdom
From the unlettered one, which the learned fall short of.

11. Whom the Merciful has chosen - creation is His servant,
And their nights, where did the beautiful maidens go?

12. The prophet of guidance; his call scorched souls,
And we are thirsty for a stream from your hands.

13. Pour it upon us, a Hashimite breath,
That heals a wound and cures illness.

14. For we have no means but your pleasure,
And no hope but your protection.

15. We yearn for the glory of Arabism to be adorned through his people,
And its banner has not ceased rising in the worlds.

16. It is time for the banner of the Arabs to be adorned through his people,

17. For us above the kingdoms is a state,
And in fate is prevailing judgment.

18. The brave youth was called through an invitation,
To which idols and leaders submitted.

19. He called them to a single Lord, majestic is His stature,
To Him belongs command; He delegates rule as He wills.

20. He called them to a religion of light and wisdom,
Generosity, kindness, inclusiveness and loyalty.

21. He called them to reject tyrannical polytheism,
And souls bled around him.

22. He called them to establish firmly an everlasting kingdom,
With justice as its foundation, and ambition its building.

23. He called them that a man makes himself,
And has no intercessors from his people.

24. He called them to conquer the land by force,
Without arrogance or pretentiousness.

25. So the best of glorious Mudar responded,
Intrepid when war intensified, martyrs,

26. Fierce in a way unmatched by holy war,
Yet amongst themselves kind,

27. Treating swords badly until they shattered,
And never once wronging those who sought protection,

28. Bearing their souls in their palms,
With only immortality as their reward.

29. If they rule a nation, their rule inclines to justice,
Not mere cattle or sheep.

30. Does the desert know its shepherds
Are protectors in the horizons of nations?

31. That if they engage in governance, they are wise rulers,
And if they dispense judgment, they are jurists?

32. They brought life back to the Arabs after ages past,
With future ahead and behind a barrier

33. That hid events and people beyond them,
Revealing what eyes glimpse in secret.

34. Around them nations built the edifice of civilization,
Yet found them content with camels and worn cloaks.

35. Minds of stone revolved around their like,
And every ignorant one to the ignorant was an equal.

36. How long had the Romans and Persians raged,
While they were prisoners in the wilds of their land,

37. Quarrels and hatreds whose embers
Stoked hell, arrogance hollow and foolish.

38. I wonder at the state of people defending a she-camel,
While their leaders were killed over it.

39. In the gloom of the desert shone the light of Muhammad,
And from it exalted cries called out in the desert.

40. A prophet by whom Mecca's plains were adorned,
And by whom Thawr gained glory and Hira' vanished.

41. They drank their fill from the fountain of religion,
A cleansing draught, and the thirsty found water.

42. And they glimpsed from the light of Taha a ray,
So all darkness in existence became illumination.

43. A prophet of purest virtue, his nature
Magnanimity, a free and serene soul,

44. And patience at tribulations, unbending,
Untroubled by adversity,

45. And asceticism, considering the world as insignificant as a gnat,
With all beneath the heavens mere vanity.

46. You see him devoted in worship and humility by the altar,
And you find him blazing in the arena of battle.

47. When he prays he leaves no corner for others,
And when he speaks, the eloquent fall silent listening to him.

48. Words from God, sovereign is their spirit,
And they don a garment of elegant Arabic.

49. Sophists wished to twist them, but recoiled,
And the wise strayed from fathoming their meanings.

50. So oh Lord, prepare for us the path of guidance,
When peril looms or affliction strikes.

51. And victory and guidance if the torrent rages,
Overflowing with what the vessel contains.

52. We beseech You, this is the banner of the Arabs, so protect it,
For around it are Your dauntless regiments.

53. We have cast with hands, and You guided their casting,
So no arrow missed, and no archers erred.

54. Grant us by the right of the Chosen One power from You,
For none endure save the strong.

55. And confer upon us the armor of Your kindness, it is
For us in the darkness of tribulations a protection.

56. To You, father of az-Zahra, my processions marched,
Processions of poetry led by shyness before You.

57. And how can one such as I depict a glimpse
The poets would fall short of describing?

58. But it is the effort of a lover, so will it find
In Your sanctity some acceptance?

59. I have a lineage nurturing devotion to Your house,
And this lineage and devotion have protected me.

60. Upon You is the greeting of God whenever
A horizon shone or praise perfumed the world for You.
