Like a frightening voice in the darkness

5. Your tenderness, we are a nation whose pillar is shaken
By the struggle of nights and reconciliation of calamities

6. If hardship uncovers it, it shows wounds
Of the stab of fate over wounds

7. And if it sends a tear in custody of God

8. The nights have confused it in other things, and I do not see
Peoples for these people like peoples

9. It is cured of weakness by crying and weeping
And heals a flame of madness with flames

10. It wipes a tear so it would give the likes of it
And forgets a loss by remembering a loss

11. So O announcer if you said, be comforted
The one who misses in his words is not like the one who hits

12. Your tenderness, say what you wish except grief
For the loss of a generous one or the separation of a loved one

13. He said โ€œIt is decreedโ€, we said โ€œThe Highest decreedโ€
He said โ€œHe passed awayโ€, we said โ€œWithout penaltyโ€

16. Oh what a loss! The Imam died but there was not
An end to this sun except setting

17. And a spring that was generous and merciful is gone
And every spring will run dry

With an insightful eye, eloquent and intelligent?

19. And who will drive back the transgressor against Ahmadโ€™s religion
With a resolve like the cutting edge of polished swords?

20. You, O Abdulaziz, when it grew dark
And it was said โ€œnow the best speakerโ€

21. I who suffered life wandering
Roaming all lands like a doomed shadow

ูŠูŽุฌููˆุจู ู…ู† ุงู„ุขูุงู‚ู ูƒูู„ู‘ูŽ ู…ูŽุฌููˆุจ

22. Or the mirage of a literate one
And folding behind people a wounded soul

ูˆู„ูƒู†ู‘ู‡ ู„ู„ูุถู„ู ุบูŠุฑู ุบุฑูŠุจ

23. And the sufferings of a heart aged with sorrows
I complain of the vulgarโ€™s oppression and gluttony

ุฎูŠุงู„ูŒ ู…ูู„ูู…ู‘ูŒ ุงูˆ ุฎูŠุงู„ู ุฃูŽุฏููŠุจู

24. And complain of the fine young man's touch of misfortune
For something that made the surroundings of Mecca desolate

ูขูค. ูˆูŠุทูˆูŠ ูˆุฑุงุก ุงู„ุจูุดู’ุฑู ู†ูุณุงู‹ ุฌูŽุฑููŠุญุฉู‹
ูˆุฃุนุดุงุฑูŽ ู‚ู„ุจู ุจุงู„ู‡ูู…ูˆู…ู ุฎูŽุถููŠุจ

25. Barren, while the rest of the land is not barren
The days are killing us and they are our lives

ูขูฅ. ุฃูŠุดูƒูˆ ู„ุฆูŠู…ู ุงู„ู‚ูˆู…ู ูƒูŽุธู‘ุงู‹ ูˆุจุทู’ู†ูŽุฉู‹

26. And give while I have seen no other but robbery
So what can I do if my trouble is thirst

27. And my cure, when medicine is scarce, is my healer?
It is as if the ropes of the sun are the sling of a warrior

28. Surrounding us from north and south
We walk with them while death is a thirsty desirer

29. Watching us in coming and going
On the red horizon from its ravages

ุชูุญูŠุทู ุจู†ุง ู…ู† ุดู…ุฃูŽู„ู ูˆุฌูŽู†ูˆุจ

30. Remnants of blood of the departed, drizzle
Is time anything but a night whose darkness is prolonged

31. Breathing from a day of scorching heat?
And the earth's soil is nothing but ruins

32. And minds that were crushed and hearts
Ask the beautiful gardens in custody of the earth

33. Do they adorn with beauty or drip with fragrance?
They were lanterns for eyes but became

34. And you do not see in them other than pale
O you who saw Abdulaziz snatched

35. By the enemy of death - what enemy!
Lying in the hands of mourners as if he is

36. An angry thunderbolt or sprinkling ashes
Oh what a loss for the spacious chest that has become

ูฃูฆ. ููŽูŠูŽุง ู…ูŽู†ู’ ุฑุฃูŽู‰ ุนุจุฏูŽ ุงู„ุนุฒูŠุฒู ุชูŽู†ููˆุดูู‡

37. Crowded with pains, no longer spacious!
In its home of dreams creeps an illness

38. That is like gravelโ€™s soft rustling - the worst of insects
You see the heart necessarily touched by it

ุจู…ูุฒู’ุฏูŽุญูู…ู ุงู„ุขู„ุงู…ู ุบูŠุฑูŽ ุฑูŽุญูŠุจ

39. Leaving it a heart with no reply
It afflicted a system of glories so it destroyed

40. The purpose of hopes and glory of nations
You used to raise my poems in life

41. And would marvel hearing my composition
So here is a call if it finds a hearer from you

42. And here is an elegy if it finds a respondent
An elegy that the deceased almost comes alive by its words

43. And holds back the sun of the horizon from setting
So surpass with it Al-Khansaโ€™s if you can, her abode

44. And compete with it, if you wish, the poetry of a loved one
I wished that I would send my poetry with weeping

47. When a grievous one roars with strong winds
The rhymes are afraid to touch majesty

48. Of one with a sublime character, revered
Upon you is Godโ€™s peace - no bird lamented
