1. If you are a witness, investigate the basis of justice
For no oppression can stand while justice prevails

2. Breathe the dawn of truth around you, truthfully
Does the eye of the sleeper see when tempted?

3. Why are the streets of civilization deserted
Of people and overrun by wild beasts?

4. Why are the meadows of protection set ablaze
With seventy hunters chasing them?

5. Yet it is safe from arrows
For God protects it from all harm

6. I see an igniting strife like embers
Setting traps of harm and conspiracies

7. Raids come raging like a dusty storm
With lightning flashing from every wing

8. In every valley, there is singing and groaning
And fruitless complaints that melt the ice

9. The enemies of the nation provoke a feud
Turning even kinsmen into strangers

10. Clouds of pagan custom that try
To find proof in Islam for their ways

11. Come to us, oh adversary, let us appeal
To it and examine traditions

12. What was a Sunnah was righteous
And what was an innovation was corrupt

13. You were misguided by a night of passion
Rushing into its darkness and channels

14. Until the dawn of the Prophetic Sunnah
By which to refine ideas and achieve goals

15. Around you are swords and tongues
To defend it from heretical additions

16. Sincere and righteous men of principle
Who can endure hardships

17. Seeking only God's approval in what they practice
Not desiring bribes or rewards

18. People are but as coins, so weigh them
By their intentions if you assay them

19. It suffices that the efforts of man reveal
Their aims regardless of their denial

20. So enlighten me, for the truth is not wearied
By the ignorant who diligently seek it

21. Enlighten me with your view on parliaments
Do they contain lions or foxes?

22. Or else what are those poisons that have spread
Such that those who taste them bow their heads?

23. Is it not time for the places of worship
To open for those remembering and worshipping?

24. And how many schools or offices are closed
Though supposedly guiding youth?

25. So parliamentarian who represents the nation
And presides over a people with a chief

26. On which back did you place your whip
And in which neck did you sheathe your sword?

27. Why do you long for a term in parliament
Were you not before that coveting it?

28. And assembly of representatives indeed you have
Cut off a hand you could have helped with

29. Woe to you, what is this disdain that has prevailed
Upon you so that you remained rigid as a rock?

30. Your people seek your aid in confusion
Yet you stray from aiding your people

31. The son of the nation calls and seeks help
If only he called one responding and sought one helping!

32. And O exalted state that ruled an era
And built the highest brotherly praise

33. We knew you once as a secular state
So why deprive Muslims of mosques?

34. Do not deny that there is blaming and reproaching
And people finding fault with this

35. Return to us the licit in every mosque
For that is still a confirmed duty in mosques

36. Trust that as long as God's house is a place of worship
Under God’s rule as long as He is One

37. And O you who call to God, do not despair
Nor let your patience in woes be exhausted

38. Be gladdened that ease comes after hardship
For I see ease coming after hardship no doubt

39. And in the ways of life are downs and ups
So go where you will not meet downs or traps

40. You will find a thriving acceptance from the people
And accompanying success from God even more

41. And O people, take wisdom as your eyes
And ascertain your rights directly

42. Whoever forfeits his allegiance boasts
Of losing it and being forfeited

43. Forget and make others forget hatred
And walk straight without stubborn resistance

44. And be where truth eternally dwells
While falsehood endures not on earth
