8. O sea you are my companion
When worries constrict my chest

9. Your company suffices me
I see your company as treasure

10. I have flown your beauty in praise
O sea and beauty flies

11. You have tempted me with beauty
So I remain tempted by you

12. Whoever swims in you
Swims in thought in you

13. No matter how strange the matter is
You are the strangest matter

14. O wide in breadth, shores
Have surrendered to you as dowry

15. On the shores is a torrent
Of wickedness, most wicked

16. The maiden meets her lover
Both naked in you

17. Exposing to you shamelessness
And hearing from you estrangement

18. So the heart from that is sorrowed
And the eye from that is tearful

19. I see you pounce like a tiger
I see you roar like a lion

20. Are you dancing in passion
Or are you overflowing with intoxication

21. Your weather is gentle
And your water pure

22. You have diversified within you sailing
With fire and wind racing

23. So in the ports are palaces
A palace almost rivalling a palace

24. And if narrow straitened
Feared by the whale in panic

25. Racing in you swimming
Rushing in you sinking

26. As if they were caravans
Crossing a barren desert

27. You have not left a harbor
That you dredged and dock

28. And you have not left a part
That you owned and coast

29. And you have not left a surface
That you owned and seabed

30. So you were to some a fortress
And to others a grave

31. I fear tomorrow in which your white froth
Turns red

32. I fear chaos in which you blaze
Turning the water to embers

33. Your ports have become observing
The meteors' vigil

34. In them are dusty alleys
Containing dusty alleys

35. Woe to whoever crossed a border
Or dead advanced a yard

36. And all who intended war
Only intended loss

37. O white of face, Africa attained
Pride through you

38. Attained through your favor goodness
From the peninsula and relief

39. So how many Arabs invaded it
Crossing you as a bridge

40. So religion therein stood upright
And virtue disseminated

41. And a free leader in you, free
Drove the non-Arabs captive

42. And the free if rebelled tyrannically
Like a hungry lion savaging

43. I love in you steadfastness
Against adversities and patience

44. I love in you humbling
The powerful and ridicule

45. I love in you beauty
From nature blossoming

46. I love in you forever
Pure and shining with good news

47. For you are more deserving of love
Than beauty and more rightful

48. For you do not fail a promise
Nor harbor treachery

49. Nor violate a honor
Nor uncover a veil

50. Loving nature is the habit
Of all who spoke poetry

51. I see the wave as soldiers
I see the coasts as castles

Except to win victory

Revealing blossoming stars

Its lights in you a river

69. And the sun at dawn scatters
In you rays as crumbs

70. Did nature become
Another nature in you

71. How many nights did I spend around you
Roaring like a stallion

72. The sound of your wave is sweeter
Than melodies in tone

73. You have honored around you a people
Driven to humiliation forcibly

74. And enriched around you a people
Complaining of misery and poverty

75. This is the farewell of a lover
Intending to part from you eternally

76. Having no capital
Except hopeless wishes

77. O sea if the matter is straitened
God may decree a matter

78. There must be ease after hardship
God will make ease
