1. A new moon has passed, praise be to Allah, and another has come
The foremost in weeping are foremost in consolation

2. When distance has passed, sorrow draws near
Good news came with the joy of nearness, tidings upon tidings

3. What grief has etched is erased by joy
So praise be to Him who has released what He has released from the heart

4. Patience's mountains crumbled amidst Ahmad
And the bonds were loosened from the creation's captives

5. In death and life there is wisdom for Allah
Of the lifespan what is owed and not satisfied with a lifespan

6. And were it not for tribulation one would not benefit from wisdom
And the prisoner and the lifelong prisoner would not be known

7. If there is hardship in revival
The relief of the death of the faithful is more agreeable

8. The weeping one did not do justice chasing after the released
To the Garden of Contentment from his burning embers

9. O Master of Masters, will you return?
Can the living be bought and sold or bartered?

10. So a bough may green after the tact stripped it bare
Yes, for the stricken one has in his Lord a fixer

11. O best of habits, renew his time
Can a grave carry what another grave has carried?

12. How good is this world that you were its beauty
And when you became of the next, how good is the next

13. How good is the Quran, the Quran of Ahmad
And how good are his remembered litanies, prose or verse

14. Reviving the science of religion returns worship
You are its duplicated and ready recourse

15. To the individuality of individuals, your command is executed
And in the Highest Assembly, the scholars' litanies are remembered

16. You see him ever absent yet he is present
Taking the one he left, commanding the one he forbade

17. He is not like the elders in conduct and way
No increase increased them, nor lifespan made them live longer

18. From the Eternal Living One greetings have come
Seeking blessing for his noble welcomed one

19. Upon him from the Merciful the greatest mercy
Watered by the Gardens of Contentment’s rainclouds green

20. And blessed in the sons from His blessings
And blessed in the brothers when they were inspired patience

21. Since between them, praise be to Allah
His successor, so thank Him for His blessing in gratitude

22. And accept the excuses of the Imam Caliph
For how many successors stumble after the exemplars of old?

23. His father bequeathed him pillars and columns
And his own state made his reign inevitable

24. He is the father and the elder to the father who
Is the father and the elder who has always been the most knowing

25. Whoever fulfills his duty to him has fulfilled it to the successor after him
So fulfill to Allah His covenant, dawn after dawn

26. I am absolved of any power besides His
And any might I might have, little or much

27. And bless the Guide, O God I submit
Upon his House and Companions who spoke of wages
