1. When I saw the people of Husain
Bearing malice towards the neighbors,

2. I abandoned its excuse and turned away from it
As the neck-ring is removed from the steed.

3. And I said to it, upon you O people of Husain
For there is no intimacy between me and you.

4. I call upon her, and no day is like a day
In which a man has fulfilled and delighted the heart.

5. So I rejoiced as if I were a polished sword
And the neighbor of Ibn Abi Qurad was honored.
